There is no one true religion.

There are many roads to God. He is NOT that biblical monster.

Tough to say. the only reason for different denominations is because of different interpretations of the bible. All the denominations have some biblical information backing them up. However if you really want to know. look no further than catholic mass. That is the religion. Every other denomination has branched from Catholicism but had new ideals added to it created by man. No way a church founded by A man is better than the church founded by THE Man.

When the people of Europe originally came to the United States, they brought many different kinds of churches, called "denominations," and religions. For example, the Scottish brought the Presbyterian church; the Germans brought the Lutheran church; the Irish and Spanish brought the Catholic church; and so forth. Because the United States guarantees freedom of religion, these many different groups have grown.

Although all kinds of Christian churches exist, you will find that most Christians agree on most things, and often worship together with Christians from different denominations at special events or in small groups.

A practicer of any religion--Christian or not--is going to tell you that the particular flag they wave is the best. Many will even have compelling reasons for their choice.

That's all you'll receive by asking this question. You might find it's interesting to get other people's viewpoints (we all travel in different directions in life, so our conclusions are bound to be varied)... but "best" is a subjective term.

I, for example, am an Atheist. I came from Christianity. Just for saying this, I'm sure I've got tons of thumbs-downs coming to me--and all of them prove my point: Not everyone will agree when it comes to using words like "best." I have a very good Christian friend who uses his faith to give life's hardships a reason. I could not find any such reason--or at least, I could not find that reason as plausible. That's not meant to bash anyone's beliefs, just stating my opinion; again, my point is to say that this subject's never going to be universally settled.

This disagreement is why there are so many denominations of Christianity. Indeed, it's why Christianity shares so many Pagan values (not that most Christians will admit to that). The more religions you study, the more you'll be struck by their similarities rather than their differences.

This past few years has witnessed a huge change in and among the different denoms, especially pertaining to the doctrines of the Bible. Sadly many have given up the very beliefs that come from the Bible.
The only source we have for our knowledge of God's will, for our faith and practice is the Bible, but many have begun to ignore it. They have come to doubt the very word of God. So how can they know what to believe and do?
Quite simply, they can't!
In Christianity, a person does not have the luxury of picking and choosing what they want to believe or not believe.
The whole of the Bible is true. But, as it had been prophesied, men have reached the place where they no longer want to hear and know the truth...they have "itching ears" and will listen to only those "leaders" that will tell them what they want to hear...nothing stressful, or harsh or condemning!
They have turned their ears away from hearing the truth.

There ARE some true churches, and they can be found within many of the denoms. This ONE thing I know they hold in common- they ALL hold fast to the Bible as their final authority for their faith and practice.
Salvation does NOT come by any denomination, not by membership, and not by anything you can do...it comes from Jesus Christ ALONE, and comes by what He has done for us on the cross.

The only way to know what God's will is, is to look for a church that follows only what God says. If it isnt there then God doest want it. Pope isnt in the Bible, God dont want it, in fact Peter, the supposably first Pope, was married!

Women dont lead, I Tim 4 says that. Church on Sunday, Acts...

There are many different things you can look at that many "christain" churchs do and say thats not Biblical.

Find a church that follows the Bible and the Bible alone.

Personally I attend a conservative church of Christ. There are may around but most dont have more then 100 people. Look in the phone book or on the web there are good God fearing Christians that follow God and no one else. You just have to look to find us.

I am Roman Catholic and I am not always sure I am on the right path even though I always try to do the right thing. Everyone wants something different in their life from others. I dont believe there is one true path in life to get to heaven. You have to find what you want and go from there. So, study up and find which denomination works side by side with what you want in and out of life.

Denominations as I understand it, differ only in tradition

(I should say, Biblical, or Bible believing denominations....)

...the core beliefs...that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, that He came in the flesh, was sinless perfection, born of a virgin, was both God and Man, He died for the sins of the world, was resurrected in body, is of the Godhead/Trinity, the Father Son and Holy Spirit...that only by faith in Jesus Christ can we be saved, that salvation does not come from works. (that no one can earn salvation, and no one deserves it)...that all who believe that Jesus is Lord will be saved. That once we accept Christ we are reborn as Christians and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us to sanctify us and help us live as Christ would have us. These are the foundational beliefs for all denominations of Biblical Christians...

The Bible is absolutely the best and primary source, along with prayer to determine which denomination is closest to the teaching of Christ.

some traditions differ for baptism, communion, confirmation, divorce, confession, but the fundamentals are to be Biblical.

If I am missing anything...Christians please correct me...

For example: Mormonism is not a Christian denomination...because they do not believe the core...the foundation of Biblical teaching and instead rely upon a different testament of Jesus...given to Joseph Smith.

Nor are Jehovah's witnesses Christians because they do not believe all of the fundamentals of Christianity as recorded in the Bible.

The bible says we are all members of the same body.Your eyes and mouth are both members of your body, but your eye cannot tell you what curry tastes like. As long as Christians of any denomination believe that the bible is the word of God and Jesus Christ is head of the church, then they shouldn't worry about their perception , just function as part of a whole, and let the Holy Spirit lead them into all truth. A bit like oxygen flowing through the whole body to keep it alive

You are wildly presuming that even one of the denominations is true. What indisputable evidence do you have that any of them is founded on facts and not just on mind-bending, handed down myths?
