For instance, some options might be:
respect life
love your fellow human
take care of the earth
always act out of love

Would any of you demand "worship me" as the first commandment? That is the first commandment in the 10 commandments. In addition, when Christ gives only two commandments, the first one is to kowtow to god.

What would be your "Main Rule" for your creation?

I think I would be pretty comfortable in my omnipresence and benevolence that I would not need my children to worship me.. maybe a Christmas card each year and a birthday sacrifice.. Them knowing I rock is sufficient.

I'd impart the following:

Don't drink and drive.
Call your mother to tell her you love her at least once a week.
Eat your veggies.
Protect your environment (Take care of your world! I took great care in creating it)
Don't eat sweets.
Drink a lot of water.

If I created all that exists I might do it for entertainment. It's the same reason I put together a fish tank environment. I don't demand anything from my fish, I just look at them when I want something to look at. I change the environment around, add fish, clean the tank, and provide nourishment. That's likely what I would do with Earth if I were god.
I like to watch the tank when the fish don't know I'm looking.

Nothing. I wouldn't even let them know I was there. When they become smart and sopiscated enough not to start a religion arround me I might have a chat with them.

When they break the chains of their physical bodies and become an information species, I would help them work as one species. When they advance again and become an energy species, I would show them how to manipulate the universe. When they break the limits of space-time, then I would step down and let have their turn as god.

If they fail as god then they will have a long and lonely existance. That is until I reverse entropy and work with them on the newly created universe. If they are successful then they will be replaced as I was.

But no rules would ever be placed on them. That would limit their ability to advance into my position.

This is actually a difficult question....I think I am biased by how things are here on earth today. I think if I were a god who had created earth I would want people to take care of the planet instead of destroying it.

That said I wonder, there is part of me that feels if I had created something like earth I would really just want to study it to see what happens..........in which case I guess I would not demand anything - in fact I would not want them to know I existed or have them worship me in any way......

In some ways this is the only kind of god I could imagine believing it....but it would be pointless to believe in a god like this as he would not really care.......

I do find it odd that a god would have worshiping him as his primary goal.....suggests a rather immature, insecure, undeveloped, child like god in many ways......

Oh, a rather serious question! My answer was going to be "feed me and decree that dimpled thighs are attractive."

So let me think....

1. Everyone has to say thank you (even if they don't mean it). Because that's the polite thing to do.
2. Don't trash my gift.
3. Run any changes by me first, just as a courtesy. I'll probably approve them, but I'd want to feel included.
4. Remember me on my birthdays - just send me a little card.

I think that's about it.

I've been a babysitter, youthworker, aunt and friend to many young ones. What I always do my best to encourage is their creativity, independence and to think for themselves.

This whole idea of worship me comes from a very different time of child-rearing. We've made a lot of progress is that area, so why not religion as well?

(P.S. Many religions have -- Buddhism, Judaism, and more.)

Id tell them to get down on their knees and realize their boundaries first by acknowledging the fact that Im the creator...and the owner of everything.

Like a wise man once said: to know thyself..is to know your boundaries.

Once weve established that...I think it would be harder for them to ignore the other commands:

be good to everything because if you mess up what is mine..and everything is mine..youll have to answer up to me.

do not go about boasting because youre weak and youre just a human..you cant even undo the breath you breathe and fill the air with CO2...

do not look down unto others because I am their protector...I am their owner ...looking down on them is looking down on me.

do what you want

seriously, I am considering to change it to "do what you think is right", but that often leads to mistaken rationalizations. If you "do what you think is right" you may do something according to a rule even though a rule does not really apply in the situation you are in. No, "do what you want" shall be the whole of the law. Oh yeah, and no hot dog buns of course.

Well, as a father, I want my child to learn, grow and develop into a strong, smart, self-reliant adult.
What kind of father would I be if I demanded that my child worship and blindly obey me? If I went out of my way to break his sense of independence under threat of extreme punishment? If I jealously demanded that he listen to and respect no other adult but me? If I demanded that he learn nothing except what I want him to know?
CPS would remove my child from me and put me in jail. And rightfully so.

Take care of the earth sounds like a good place to start. The first thing you teach a puppy is not to pee on the carpet.
