The short and only answer:
Live your life honestly; if you’re gay…be gay and be happy.
The thing not to do is worry about what other people say you should do with your life.
Be yourself; that is honest. Allow other people to be themselves and otherwise ignore them.
All the judgmental energy currently expended in the US right now, ain’t worth spit. People will offer opinions and make judgments with little or no expertise with which to make a reasonable decision. Ignoring such an opinion is not only wise…it is mandatory.
Considering the rampant prejudice in our country right now…a low profile will assure you a happier time of life.
This is unfortunate but probably true. Do your own thing so long as you do not rob the rights of others in doing so. Our rights stop at the end of our noses. It is sad that so many that make judgments do not realize this. Just ignore them.

First to the examples you give. How do you define a gay person? Is a man who has spent his whole life married to a woman and living a good life, gay because of an episode?
I find the guestion interesting because gay advocates would likely say yes he was always gay. However, when a man who is gay and has lived that lifestyle happily all his life makes a decision for Christ and with the support of the Holy Spirit leaves that lifestyle it is not accepted. The gay advocates will say he was never a homosexual. I wish that I understood these things better.
I don't know what the truth is with Ted Haggart and the others. I suspect that like many pastors they were burnt out and under great stress. Pastors at times get so busy that we neglect our own spiritual life and open ourselves to dire temptations. It isn't right but it happens.
This guestion really has little to do with them. It is simply what does a homosexual do - live as a homosexual or pretend not to be a homosexual? If that person is a Christian they ought to begin by exploring the Biblical teachings about homosexuality. This is true for all Christians. Then like any of us, conform to their honest understanding of those teachings.
This isn't easy and I don't pretend it is. I struggle daily with temptations in my life and far too often have failed. I have learned that when I do it on my own, I am destined to failure. When I open myself to the Holy Spirit I find strength to do things I never thought were possible. I have also found that God is gracious. Everytime I fall down and sin, he picks me up and offers grace and help for the journey.

Christ tells us that bad fruit cannot come from a good tree. This entire anti-gay interpretation of Scripture leads to nothing but suffering, misery and harm to gay people. If this interpretation were correct, why are so many harmed by it?
It's easy to use the Bible to justify homophobia. "It's not my opinion, it's God's opinion," the anti-gay movement tells us. (Not even taking responsibility for their own words.) This is somehow supposed to make it okay when this belief leads to shattered lives, bigotry, suicide, physical and verbal attacks against gay people, and men and women trying desperately to "be" heterosexuals, ultimately failing and often hurting spouses and children in the process.
Gay men and lesbians should live their lives as they were born to be. If being gay were just temptation, why does it only tempt gay men and women? Why are heterosexuals not tempted by this same "temptation"? God knew us before we were even born, even when we were in our mothers' wombs. He knew He was creating a gay person and He had a reason for doing it. We should not try to destroy that which God created, because the results are never good. Bad fruit cannot come from a good tree.

Being homosexual is difficult in our society. Not only are they ostracized by the general, fearing public, they face the difficulty of coming out to their family, and even themselves. I, for one, find the issue quite complex.
In my opinion, I believe homosexuals should behave as they naturally behave. Maintaining the straight deception frays their psyche, potentially leading to mental problems such as depression and, at the most extreme, suicide. By coming out to the public, homosexuals release themselves from secrecy but ignite another battle.
Coming out puts homosexuals on the fringes of our society. Radical religious right groups stigmatize homosexuals, telling them they are living in sin and damned to hell. Furthermore, they use their anti-homosexual rhetoric for legislation against civil unions and homosexual rights. So, I can understand why homosexuals feel threatened at the idea of being who they are.
Repression of sexuality has caused problems among Christian groups and non-Christians alike. Gay priest molesting children, evangelical reverends soliciting men, and average, male congregates seeking private affairs have made headlines. This double-life, a singular lie, hurts many and saves none...
Christians need to look at the forgiveness that their God gave onto mankind and extend that compassion to homosexuals.

I have been a strong Christian all my life. I love God, my faith, and my family. I was also born gay.
I was BORN gay...nothing will ever change that. God made me gay, and, despite what other Christians say and no matter how they judge me, I know that I am in the right with God by living my gay life. God would not want me to lie. Ted Haggard is gay--no kind of "ex-gay" camp is going to change his attraction for men of the opposite sex. And I know that being gay is not a sin--God would not create people that are damned to hell before they can even talk or walk.
I have a personal relationship with God--and that is all I need. Catholic or Protestant, it doesnt matter. Christianity is an individual faith--its not an organized religion.
I know this was long-winded, but I live both as a strong Christian, and as gay...and I am comfortable as both.

No, I never heard of those ice holes.
I am glad to see that somebody is not accusing the Catholic Church for once.
About your question, I don't know. I suppose it should be painful when you have a man inside your back outlet. Just think when you have a REALLY, REALLY severe constipation ( and that coming out, the normal way. Going the other way should hurt indeed ).
Therefore, I see no motivation to do something so painful

The bible states to pick up your cross and follow Jesus Christ.
On his cross, he bore all sins of all flesh, having no sin himself.
I can see where you could reason that living without acting on sexual desires would not be as bad as being put to death for everyones elses sins.
