I don't agree with a lot of the answers below. If Jesus was such a miracle worker (No offense to all the Christians) he could have gone all around the world. Why wouldn't he? This is supossed to be God here that we are talking about right? So what is really the truth??????? I know I don't have the answer.

He was only in the Middle East because that's where God's chosen people lives, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Good News of the Gospel was for the Jews, but upon their rejection of it, salvation came to the Gentiles.
And, it was all in fulfillment of God's Word that Messiah was to be:
...born in Bethlehem
...be called out of Egypt
...called a Nazarene
...and many many more that could only have been fulfilled in Israel.

Jesus was sent for the Jews. Sure there has been a prophet sent to Americas native people. Islam believe Allah (God) has sent a messenger to every nation in this world.

You have to go back to where God chose Abraham to be his tool in completing his plan on the earth. Jesus came from that line.
Jesus had to be born somewhere... yeah, it could have been the Americas... but it wasn't! His followers were told to take the news of him to every part of the earth... we're still working on that. :)

Because the Bible said that he was to be born in Bethlehem. And that he was first for the Jew and then the Gentile. That he was to be from the line of David. He had to be Jewish or else it would have contradicted the Bible, and he wouldn't have been the messiah.

No--it was called a lack of transportation.
We're talking before ships were able to sail. We're talking before people even KNEW there were other countries or continents.
Most people during that era rarely left a 30 miles radius of their home, unless put into slavery.

Perhaps when he said I gotta go, I have sheep of other flocks, he was referring to them.
John 10:16
other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
KJV
Besides, he came to Israel because Jerusalem is where Eden was before the flood. He gave his life to pay for the sin of Adam at the very spot where Adam sinned the sin unto death.

The Mormons claim he made a special trip to the States.
The English claim he spent his youth in Wales at Glastonbury, and in India they claim to have a tomb where he was buried after he died of old age.

That's where He was born and His chosen people were. Jesus never traveled far from His home. The price he paid for our salvation was for who so ever will accept Him.
