The Greeks asked Paul, "May we know what this NEW teaching is that you are presenting? You are BRINGING some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean" (Acts 17:19)

He was preaching about the resurrection. People always say this relates to Horus and Mithra. Yet the Greeks had no clue as to this "resurrection" thing. They even thought it strange. Doesn't this kind of close the book about the idea of the Christians taking from Greek mythology?

Your thoughts?

I mean if you had to write a definition for Webster's dictionary. If you were given a chance to change the current definition, what would it be. Think here! "Unconditional" No matter what I say, no matter what I do, no matter what I think, and time is not a factor! Best answer gets the points and the respect!

Jesus said we have a new covenant and two things were tantatmount. First to love God with all your heart and next to love each other. I think God put me here not as a test of my faithfulness, but rather as a test to those around me as to how well they love their fellow man.

I'm not going to be made to feel like some kind of deviant simply because I privately love differently. I've been with one man in my life, for 24 years and thats not about to change. Thats more than half my life yet my devotion has never waivered. I think I've got a good track record of following what Jesus told us all to do.

Other resources?

How did you decide to gather your information from these sources?

How did you become convinced that they are reliable?

Please be as specific as possible (names of authors, etc.).

This occasionally happens.

Because many who support legalized abortion claim that they believe that it's no different than any other operation, I'm not worried about offending them.

The following is an excerpt from the experience of a former abortionist:

"I remember getting called down to my chairman's office because a young lady that I had done an abortion on showed up, and the abortion had been incomplete. I had not done my job right, and she passed an arm or a leg and she freaked out because she didn't realize what had happened." -Former Abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino

...(Paul the Apostle)? It seems to me that ol' St. Paul wrote the bulk of the Christian theology and teachings used today, as well as a very good deal of the new testament. So who is the more important figure in the creation of the early church, Paul or Jesus?

(note: I refer to the HISTORICAL Jesus present in HISTORY, not the Godly Jesus referred to in the gospels and the like. I mean the actual (Jewish) Nazarethan preacher that walked the earth some 2,000 years ago)

You appear loving and kind on the outside, but on the inside you long for love and significance which you try to attain by the amount of meetings you go to, how much you read your bible and how often you witness.

Stop trying to fill that void that only Jesus can fill with his Holy Spirit.

The truth will set you free

Leviticus 20:13 (Man shall not lie w/ another man...paraphrased)

Many Christians point to this as God's law, and therefore homosexuality is wrong

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (A rebellious son is to be executed...paraphrased)

Why don't Christians feel that this is God's law, and that allowing a disobedient child to live is wrong?

(This question can also apply to many of the other classic examples, like trimming your beard, or mixing fabrics, or women wearing jewelry, etc)

Please, no obnoxious answers, insults, or ignoring the question to preach. I'm looking for an intelligent, logical Christian answer. Thanks.

I guess if this is how it works then, If I do not believe in rent then the landlord will not expect me to pay it. Do you think the landlord should make me pay for the lifestlye I chose, even if I do not believe I should? So do you think God will not send you to hell simple because you do not believe in it?

>>being gay might be something that people are born with but it doesn't mean they have to act on their feelings,<<

Someone said that. Lots of people say that. And they sin, daily. How is my being gay such a big deal? It's not like I act upon it every day. I'm so busy I'm lucky to act upon once or twice a season. And that includes by myself. Yet I'm the great satan to society. I don't understand how some people can be so self righteous to think that God in His infinite wisdom and love would create people to live their only life of denial and lonlieness in order to prepare for an eternity of thanking Him for it? It doesn't make sense when the universe is so logical.
