This occasionally happens.

Because many who support legalized abortion claim that they believe that it's no different than any other operation, I'm not worried about offending them.

The following is an excerpt from the experience of a former abortionist:

"I remember getting called down to my chairman's office because a young lady that I had done an abortion on showed up, and the abortion had been incomplete. I had not done my job right, and she passed an arm or a leg and she freaked out because she didn't realize what had happened." -Former Abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino

before I answered this, I read your other responses- I knew you opened yourself up to comments from those who believe abortion is ok for a woman IF SHE CHOOSES= Thanks for sharing the truth about this- the dr, realized he was taking the life of 'someone's child' after he lost his child in an accident- how could anyone make fun of this mans turn around. that is so unbelievable to me- if people chose to abort and we say they should not do that- we are judging, but when someone "chooses" to not perform abortions anymore, they are judged. Interesting double standard huh? By the way , "legalized abortion" is not like any other operation- it is not JUST operation on one person, it is taking the life of the infant- in an operation the dr, is fighting to save a life- A HUGE DIFFERENCE- keep speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I had an abortion when i was young...I wouldn't do it now and I often cry about it. I have two wonderful kids and I appreciate the magnitude of what i did and where and who i was at the time. I have learned though that the earlier you do it the less it is developed and not really a baby at all (thats my opinion)...but.. I still wouldnt do it again and i try not to judge people for their decisions..I just try to educate them in any way i can. If i had have been shown how developed it was at 8 weeks before the procedure i would probably have changed my mind...or not...I would have been an awful mother...probably an abuser because i had major issues to overcome and no one to turn to. I still dont really know if what i did was wrong or not thinking of what that child would have had to endure with me as a mother. Only God knows.

Don't force your opinions on others spammer.

"The doctors at the table Thursday, all obstetrician-gynecologists, raised concerns about the rapidly rising costs of malpractice insurance.

Dr. Anthony Levatino of Las Cruces said malpractice insurance costs in southern New Mexico have doubled to about $67,000 a year.

As other costs increase, Levatino said it would be impossible to continue to pay high insurance premiums."

and

"Dr. Anthony Levatino started withdrawing from abortion after a tragic death in his family. He had done abortions as a resident but felt internal conflict about it. He and his wife were "going crazy trying to find a baby to adopt"--while at work he was aborting babies and "throwing ’em in the garbage at the rate of nine and ten a week." He thought, "I wish one of these people would just let me have their child." The Levatinos finally adopted a little girl, Heather, and later had a son. The doctor kept doing abortions, even the gruesome D&E type--until Heather, playing outside one day, was killed by a car. After that, he said, "I couldn’t even think about a D&E abortion anymore. No way." He kept doing early abortions for several months, but "I began to feel like a paid assassin. That’s exactly what I was. . . . So I quit."

His decision was personal and had nothing to do with an arm or a leg coming out of a woman...........note the "his decision was personal" part..........the decision should be personal.

didn't you once before post this biased pro-life crap? the only abortions where fetal parts are present are late term abortions, and those are only done for maternal health for fetal demise. also, such a thing wouldn't happen if a certified doctor had done the abortion, or wasn't negligant like that clown was.

If I had gotten an abortion, it wouldn't bother me. I would assume that the abortion was incomplete at the time. It's not a big deal.

Maybe if I passed a penis or a nipple or something, I would be a little freaked out....

Personally I would probably never get an abortion. But, I do not feel qualified to make that decision and take that kind of responsibility for another woman. It's her personal choice, just as it is mine. That is why I'm pro-choice.

Uh huh. The truth about pro-life is that it's actually pro-BIRTH. When you start caring for all the poor kids being born to poor mothers, you'll get my respect. Until then, get over yourself.

Abortion is a LEGAL choice and so it must remain. There's no such thing as an abortionist -- they're licensed medical professionals providing a very personal service for those who want it, need it and choose to have it.

I imagine that you would have to ask the hypothetical woman.

Surely you realize that no two people react the same way to a situation?

I know that most people would be quite upset at any botched medical procedure.

Would you mind if your 9 year old daughter were raped and became pregnant? Would you then be cruel enough to force her to carry the baby to term? Surely not!

Would you mind if your wife were beaten and raped? Would you welcome the pregnancy?

In both cases, I would take them to a hospital and have a DNC IMMEDIATELY.

I do not believe that abortion is right, but I believe the type of question that you asked is really bad. It alienates instead of convincing.
