I think today's churches are far from the first, legalistic and they twist the bible to suit their own agenda. The catholic church what a joke. Any religon that tells a child she will burn in hell because her father wasnt catholic has some major problems. And the other churches I check out arent much better. I found the closest church is in your soul and studying the Word. Churches are full of hypocrites.

Descendents of the Church that Christ founded are identified today by the same things that identified them almost 2000 years ago and will identify them far into the future.
Revelations 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city
This in no way describes the Catholic Church which teaches that the commandments of God are superceded by the traditions of the Popes.
Mark 7:7 However, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
There exists a group of Churches of God who try their best to live by every word of God. These Churches are the true spiritual descendents of the first century Church of God founded by Christ and the Apostles.

No, my Church is not "like" the first Christian Church. My Church IS the first Christian Church. Christ didn't intend it to be the "first" Christian Church however. He intended it to be the ONLY Christian Church. He said so! The stated will of God leaves no room for a system of thousands of conflicting manmade denominations teaching partial truths mixed with modern traditions of men. His own Church, the one He founded for YOU, has no denominations. It remains united in belief, united in teaching, united in worship and united in administration after 2,000 years, a record that no human institution has ever come close to attaining.

Yes. Ours. The Traditional Anglican Communion. Free from "Roman additions to" and "Protestant subtractions from" the faith once delivered unto the saints.
How? This sounds like our church:
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." Acts 2:42

Well, we gather, we pray, we sing, we have the Lord's Supper. I think most of the same elements are there.
