Karma means work to be done..............

There are two forms of Karma.
1. That which is brought with you into the world from before, you took this birth.
2. That which you accumulate while you are here.

Karma are those things you have to work on, understand, and
then graduate.

Karmic Law has been passed from Teacher to student in the Sufi tradition for over two thousand years. I am a student.
If mans Karma has been eliminated, and the ego has been suppressed, the "Truth" of mans Soul will be revealed to a human, that has accomplished this.

Everything that happens to us is our karma, both good and bad. Everything that we are experiencing now is a reaction to something we have done in the past, either in this life or a previous one. Also by our actions now we are creating our karma for the future.

Simple: What goes around comes around. What you sow, so shall you reap.

The hard part is never knowing if it's something you did in this life or a past one.

Also consider:
Bad luck seems to come attached to so many different factors, but karma may be one of them. If you really believe this to be the case (or even if you don't) then to my understanding the best way to deal with it would be thus :

1. Acceptance - bad karma is a kind of self inflicted penance...so accept that things are going against your way - accept with an open heart.

2. Learn - karma is a self inflicted teaching tool, - so dig deep to find any lessons you can amongst the things that are happening to you. Look for a message, look for a reason...what is it trying to show you?

3. Be good and forgiving - to others. Bad karma is somewhat unavoidable in the immediate future since it is already programmed (by your higher self). But deeds of good will and FORGIVING of others will help clear the future karmic road.

4. Remember - a rocky karmic road is an opportunity for increased personal growth. See it as a positive challenge (as best you can). Let it help you grow strong, but remain open at the same time... Open to lessons, open to growth, open to change.... Change hurts, but usually only the more so because we fight it.

Karma is the concept of "action" or "deed" in Dharmic religions understood as denoting the entire cycle of cause and effect described in Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Buddhist philosophies.

Science: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Spiritual: Balancing of all that is unbalanced

Karma is the total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny.

crystallinectar, bran muffin
if that's your real name.

You are correct.

I'm guilty of telling people the "as you sow" or the "return thrice" lines...

2 reasons

First: The answer is more concise and easier for people to understand because they have heard the concept as presented.

Second: If they buy into it perhaps the immediate affect will be that they will be a bit more charitable to people.

Still you are more correct than I however good my intentions are.

Blessed Be.

karma describes what is.

your karma is the sum of your actions. nothing more.

the law of karma merely states that you need to be aware of the fact that your actions have effects and act accordingly.

it says nothing about reward and punishment. it does NOT say that what you put out comes back. it does NOT say "what goes around comes around." that's a misinterpretation of what the word means. that philosophy is a karmic philosophy, but is not karma itself.

Karma spiritually is the universal law of "cause and effect". In science it is similar to newtons law of motion (kinetics).....push and something pushes back. Its not personal, it is the result of the universe creating balance.

Many people think of it as "good luck" or "bad luck" but really it's simply a matter of whatever energies you put out, whether good or bad, returning to you in your everyday life. It won't always come back the same way you sent it out(i.e. if you give a homeless man money, you won't find a ten dollar bill lying in the street), but it does come back in what a lot of people think of as luck.
