Unconditional love is a decision to continue to love the other through any and all circumstances. It is demonstrated through unselfishly doing what is in the best interest of the other, even when you are in disagreement with them.

It means, even tho a lot of people on this site are mocking and making a joke out of our Lord and His people, But He is so wonderful, that if you fell to your knees and asked Him for forgiveness with all your heart, He will do it. That's unconditional. And once you give yourself to Him, no matter how many times you mess up, if you confess your sin to Him with your heart, He will forgive, maybe chastise if necessary. But HE WILL forgive. That's unconditional. The only condition is that you have to forgive others as He has forgiven you. But yes, you do need to believe in Him. The praise will come later, as you learn of His grace, love and mercy. When you see how kind He actually is. If it weren't for His unconditional love, no Christian would even make it.

When I first read the question of course the 1st answer I wanted to say would have been God, but I think that would be a lie because I'm still young in my faith and I will be the first to admit that I have allowed fear to guide me in it, but I am learning to let go and let God. So the true answer as of this time will be my kids. That to me is "Unconditional Love".
They have disrespected me, hit me, yelled at me, used me, and yet I will always be there to love them through it all. I can't imagine not having them in my life. If "unconditional love" was a pic. it would be a pic of my children.
So if I look at it another way, the way I love my children is the same way God loves ME!
My definition of Unconditional Love=my love for my children

If you break the word down, im guessing it would mean love without conditions, To put some perspective on it a conditional love im guessing would mean that you love them only when they act in a certain manner befitting of your ideals of a lover. For example a player i guess would be a conditional lover of sorts since he only shows love for a short time :)
I dont think unconditional love rides in on a horse and picks you up off your feet, for one i cant ride a horse for sh@# and second I asked my nana & grandad how they managed to stay together for so long. They said it in one word Concideration (or was it tolerance, i forget).
You must understand the difficulty of this degree of love, these days people are breaking up every couple of months so to trust someone so completly requires work & it wont be a smooth sailing road thats for sure, you will need to make sacrifices and so will your partner.
Rome wasnt built in a day and either will a successful relationship. But if both partys are willing to do what it takes then I see no troubles in going unconditial with this?

In your life, if you take a closer look, you will find that people always change their mind. The most make a mistake by believing that their lovers will love them forever. If you treat them inappropriately, you never have love from them. The truly unconditional love comes from you yourself. If you love, respect and do not hurt yourself, this love should be called unconditional love.

Simple. It means loving without expecting anything in return. Unconditional love has nothing to do with personal love, its a transcendental state of being. Its love that can not be described as an action or as a feeling but is best described as a state of being......Unconditional love is transpersonal it means loving the whole of everything instead of just this or that.

Unconditional Love
Lo, the tremble of earth is felt
Your eyes, my heart doth melt
Eons and eons have we thus seen
Only time knows where we’ve been
Even when I was a Captain of Rome
Patiently you waited for love to come home.
Be I a king, pauper, knight or slave
It was your caress alone I did crave
Now it seems this time about
We can do nothing save shout
Your soul knows where to be
Alas, you have anger with me
Our souls together forever bound
Perhaps I’ll catch you next time around
The pain, you hold on so tightly
Dreams of you, arouse me nightly
Fight for the victory did I so boast
Nay did I see, you needed me most
In kind, to hurt me do you push me away
No matter, I love you anyway.

I've only experienced unconditional love from my cats. Personally, I don't think humans are really capable of it, and in truth, I believe no one should so totally surrender his identity or sense of self. All love is conditional, it's just that some people won't admit it because it makes us look bad. As for any god's love being unconditional, that's also not true. The gods seem entirely willing-- even eager-- to ruthlessly discard those who don't comply to a narrow set of rules.

Secular definition -
When someone is willing to give their life for another.
When no matter what the other person does, no matter how much they have hurt the other person. You still manage to love them.
When no matter what the person could ever do, say, think, you will always love them no matter what. And nothing on earth could ever change that.
Being none judgmental of someones past or present.
Being able to accept someone for who they truly are.
and every part of them. Bad habits and all.
That you would give anything and everything for their well-being and happiness
Unconditional love is a none-negotiable decision. (you don't even have to think about it.
------------------------------------------------
God is the only unconditional love.
God is Love . Plain and simply.
Love is God.
What better definition of love can you get then God.
He has showed one of the highest kinds of love

I don't think, with the way dictionaries say things, that they answer much or very deeply. Unconditional love is a feeling for someone, when their presence, alone, can brighten your day.
