Seriously, how arrogant do you have to be to assume the authority to tell others what some type of divine creator wants and doesn't want. Especially when that divine creator lacks any semblance of definition?

I would think some of you secretly do. For one thing, you accuse people who don't believe in your deity of 'hating' him, when we simply don't believe in his existence. For another, if you believe in an all powerful being, then you have to hold him responsible for everything, like it or not. (And don't try and pull that 'the devil' nonsense, if there were a devil then your god would have had to create it as well.)
So tell the truth, how many of you secretly hate your god? There must be times when you blame him for killing your puppy or not answering your prayers. Tell the truth.

I hear and read that a lot of people are not aware of this. They saved people's lives, spread the gospel, ministered to our blessed LORD and Savior. http://www.bellaonline.com/subjects/9453.asp

Should children be allowed to pass out fliers expressing their freedom of religion in public schools? Why or why not? Remember that, if Christians have the right, everyone else does too.

Does a school endorse any particular religion by allowing students to distribute their own fliers about it? Why or why not?

What impact do you think fliers conveying a religious message would have when compared to other forms of religious expression like clothing or jewelry? More, less, or the same? How?

I would never have believed this if it had not happened to me just yesterday.
I was backing out of my driveway to take a much needed night out with my husband yesterday, and there were some JW's blocking my driveway.....They would not move until my husband yelled for them to leave the property....I was blown away...I WAS a JW for 22 years and I never saw or heard of such aggressive behaviour. Is this the new way to approach people?

There are those who will say that I am making this up, but I am not, I do not need to make up things. What is up?

I only ask cos someone a few minutes ago said that many atheists are actually people who hate God. This seems like an oxymoron to me, however, it set me to wondering if such people do exist. Let's find out, shall we?

I'm on the road to becoming Orthodox, and I was wondering, if a person has a recurring impure desire or thought but resists it and withstands it in the name of Jesus, do they still have to confess it to their priest? Also, if a person confesses a sin to God before they become Orthodox, is it necessary to confess it all over again to a priest once you enter the Church?
And please, all protestants who have a vendetta against the Catholic or Orthodox Church, please refrain from posting on how un-biblical confession is.

the name Jahovah.....? Proverbs 30:1-4 says we do not know his name? and Revelations 19:11-12.(end of the book)

maybe they do not prononce it right? Don't you think it is arragont to just say his name, when he says no one knows his name? The bible was converted over from Hebrew, or whatever language it was....could be mistakes in it....the jews are to frightened to pronoce this name, or do not know the name themselfs....but this cult says it over and over like they are choisen people or somthing...?

Why do so many religious people in here insist on calling atheists, agnostics and followers of other religions fools? Do they not realize they are disobeying their own text? I'm sure someone will point out that jesus supposedly called some people fools, but there is no hard historical evidence he even existed, much less said it. Do these people think they are above such simple rules? Or do they not bother to read the bible they rely so heavily upon?

I asked him once when we first started dating about 4 months ago. It was Easter and he said no because he thought it was a little early for that and he would feel like wrong for going only on Easter. I understand that but I really want him to go to church with me. I've hinted a little bit lately but he isn't getting it. How do I get him to go to church with me??

In the Yahoo answers forum, under the general heading of “Society & Culture”, there are two separate sub categories: “Mythology & Folklore,” and “Religion & Spirituality.” Why isn’t religion a direct sub category of mythology?

All religion is mythology. It is only a matter of perspective. For instance, most modern people do not believe in Norse Gods like Thor. So they are all in a sense atheistic. We could in fact call them “Athorists.” But when it comes to properly labeling Christian ideology as mythology, it is called religion, as if it deserves some special respect. All rational people see no difference between the insanity of Christianity and astrology, wicca, Norse theology or any other superstition.

Excepting the hubris of lifelong indoctrination and early brainwashing,
Why is “religion” even listed as a separate valid topic?

I don't think so. Yes, USA has seen a controversy of "religious icons" in public buildings or areas. Europe has become more "secular". In USA certain high middle class affluent "intellectually gifted" people are more skeptical. So it looks like an "atheist world" in the future, Yet, minorities have become more religious [notice the increase numbers of churches in Hispanic neighborhood] and Islam is advancing in Europe, despite the "secular" character of these countries. So it won't be so "unreligious". What do you think?

I've studied the Celts as an amateur and my understanding little is known of their beliefs, and what is known is in doubt.

Can anyone point me to authoritative sources on this subject, or share some keywords for a search or three?

Thanks.

It is my understanding that J.W.'s believe only a certain amount of people get into heaven. It is also my understanding that the amount of people they believe get into heaven is far less than the current amount of J.W.s. Can you please tell me how that part of the religion makes sense?
