You are completely free to disagree with our beliefs. But PLEASE have a little common courtesy and respect!

Don't you realize that it is deeply hurtful and offensive to us when you insult and blaspheme God?

You say things about Him that I wouldn't say about the worst kind of person.

Please, have some respect for our views like you ask us to do for you. Please!

This is a genuine question, and i'd appreciate people not giving silly or judgemental answers please. Could JW's here tell me what sort of things happen during a meeting...do you sing lots of worship songs as in christian/etc churches. its just always made me wonder if a jw meeting follows the same type of principle...many thanks if there is music, what type is it ????

What is your opinion about this from the quote?

"On the Treatment of Women
Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: I went to the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) and asked him: "What do you say (command) about our wives?" He replied: "Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them." (Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 11, Number 2139) "The best of you is one who is best towards his family and I am best towards the family". (At-Tirmithy). "None but a noble man treats women in an honourable manner. And none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully". (At-Tirmithy)."

Nearly every religious document I've read said that if you do such and such, you will get eternal life from god. My question is: What if you don't want eternal life? What if you just want to die and stay dead? What if in your perspective you are not grateful for "god's gift of life" and would've rather simply never existed in the first place?

It appears that Y/A has this idea that if you "accept" Jesus Christ you are not going to hell.

Is that really all there is to it? Is it enough to profess that Jesus Christ is Lord but you continue to live as you lived prior to accepting Jesus Christ into your life?

Prior to 500BC (roughly) pretty much all religion was Pagan. Around 500BC all over the world there was a major shift from poly- to monotheism, the "world's N great religions" came from this time, and many of the leaders of major religions came from this period, such as Confucius, Lao Tsu, Buddha, several high prophets of Judaism, and more. So after 500BC many areas of the world became non-Pagan or mixed.
Few current Pagans realize that in their beliefs they may be more New Age than Pagan, and this includes many Wiccans. New Age, at one time termed "the Perennial Philosophy" starts with Plato, then Plotinus and the Neo-Platonist, mixed with Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and the Mystery Religions, with a great debt to Advaita Vedanta Hinduism both early and later, was passed down through the Templars and various heretic groups, the Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Theosophy, to the Golden Dawn and the High Magickal traditions, until it formed much of Wicca through Gardner.

I do not know anybody who has been in the Vundun circles, but I have a strong interest in finding out more about it in reference to working with spirits... for ideas and applications and the like. I am fairly certain that I can summarize it up as being talisman + trance-state invocation + object containment + et cetera... but I was hoping that I could find a good piece of literature on the subject. Any occultists or 'pagan's out there please help guide my focus. There is always Amazon of course... but hey, I thought I'd try first. (Vundun = Voodoo, for those who do not know)

By Christianity, I mean strictly the fundamentalist, evangelical variety that feel the need to "save" the rest of us, and impose their views on others, whether by just offering unsolicited advice or by trying to legislate their personal "morals" on everyone else. I DO NOT refer to the true Christian- those who offer love and acceptance, do not judge, allow people their differences, and only want to live their lives according to the dictates of their own conscience but do not feel the need to inflict it on others.
