was it a rough ride in the beginning? did it feel, even if only for a while, like you had lost something you loved?

i've been through that, and it's far behind me now. for me, i think it was just the act of letting go of my old ways that saddened me, no matter how destuctive those ways were. i just want to know how common it is for other people to have shared that same kind of experience. i realize that saying something like this might give the critics a little more ammo, because they don't understand the freedom and the peace and the power i've gained, but as i said, i'm interested to know if this is a common kind of experience for newcomers to have. thanks.

I have seen so many people say that only stupid people believe things that other people tell them. Why does it make you stupid to believe other people?
When I was a child, my parents told me that I will burn myself if I touch a hot stove. I believed them and did not touch it. Does the logic given by non believers tell them that they need to touch the hot stove before they know that it is hot? I am not saying to blindly believe everything you hear but, to search it out for yourselves. It is a man of wisdom who shows the faith of a child.
I have a philosophy that I will believe what people tell me as the truth until they give me reason not to. At the same time, I am not ignorant and believe that because I have the Holy Ghost to guide me, I will not be led astray be the great deceiver that is Lucifer. To those who call me stupid because I believe in God please tell me what you base your opinion on or is it just pure hatred for anyone who doesn't think you're the smartest person around?

Believe what you want. Can you leave the gays alone? Can you leave the pagans alone? And the people who like having sex? For that matter, can you leave me alone?

Religion is your business, not mine. Why are religions always trying to shape the laws that we all have to live by? Why get on Y answers and tell other people how bad they are?

Where does the Church of Jehovah's Witnesses get their priesthood authority from to be able to ordain members of their Church to different Church callings such as the office of an "Elder"?

As I understand it, the Jehovah Witness Church was started by scholarly men who studied the Bible frequently and re-translated the Bible into their own understanding (New World Translation). Was God actually involved somehow in their translation process either physically or through the Spirit?

If the Bible-idea of creation, as it is written in Genesis, states that six days were all that God required to complete the task of creating everything and if the Bible is the virtual dictation from God and written by inspired men, why would there be any confusion over how long a day is?

I've heard people tout the idea that a day for God is longer than a day, but this isn't told of in the Bible.

Wouldn't God understand the confusion it would cause in the mind of men if he reported that he did his work in just six days rather than over the course of several millennia of days if it wasn't so? And wouldn't the inspired men writing down what God had communicated to them recognize the difference between a millennia of days and a single day?

The Bible claims that only six days were required. Certainly both God and the writers of Genesis knew what they intended to communicate, didn't they? If a day didn't equal a day, why would either God or his inspired writers have said it?

""Islam has given me all the answers to y questions, I am at home witht he universe. I am at peace and content. I have my guiding light to follow- Allah. I seek no more than to continue to be guided by Allah and to surrender wholly to His will. This has the effect of ushering one above pomp, idols and intermediates. You carry a picture of your loved one in your wallet or put a picture of your friend in a frame on the wall because you care for that person and the picture serves as a reminder of that person, but when a Catholic posts a painting of Mary or a Saint in a church, one automatically assumes it is idolatry and we are worshipping them?

If you read these, you see they are about self defense, and also telling the reader that if the person you are defending yourself from stops, then you must stop too. It also says don't go overboard in protecting yourself, just do what you need to stay alive and protect yourself. This does not mean to go around killing innocent people. Self defense is not killing those who are not muslim. Self defense is just that. If physically attacked, fight back. If the attacker stops, you stop too. And why was verse 192 left out of the Answering Islam site? Is it because it made people really think about this? It says if the attacker stops, then good, all is forgiven.

[002:190] Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

This is a passage from the Bible - it's well worth reading this!

In the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, "What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created."

They deliberately forget that God made the Heavens by the word of His command, and He brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present Heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

A day is like a 1,000 years to the Lord, and a 1,000 years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow concerning His promise, as some people think. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants ever everyone to repent.

You cut and paste half the Bible as your undisputable proof for your beliefs, but, Atheists seem to make their arguments much stronger using their own imagination and intelligence. You seem to be lacking these qualities.

Sklemetti, A JW answered a question by Lysdexic Princess, "When someone uses old Watchtower Publications.."
In his answer he made the following 3 statements. I want to know, "Do you guys agree with him. I've never heard a JW say this. (Especially point #3)

1) "The Watchtower Society can say all they want and it does not affect Jehovahs Witnesses"
2) "Where do you get the idea that Gods mouthpiece would be error free?"
3) "Where do you get the idea that GOD is error free?" (caps mine)

I admit I'm finding it hard to believe that the rest of you JW's are going along with this. Especially statement #3

So tell me, does HE represent JW thinking in these matters?
Because if he does, I'll admit its a shock to me.
