He would have remained a lone man in the Garden of Eden while she was banished and well... he would have been in trouble too then, since God told him to multiply and there was no one there to help him do that? Not sure, and no one will ever know because history.

The apple is symbolic of sin. Basically the Adam and Eve story is meant to show the universal nature of sin--both men and women do bad things, and have done since the beginning of time. Therefore, the idea of Eve eating the apple and not Adam is impossible, because both sexes make wrong decisions sometimes.

1 of 2 things. God would have destroyed Eve, and started over. Or God would have punished Eve and all females by making her another animal that dies. Men would live forever as long as they obeyed God commandment. God would allow Satan to continue to tempt females and probably allow them both to tempt man, until Satan has corrupted all he can corrupt. Once they all died off. God will destroy the Devil and all who doubted his word. But chances are, after Eve died, no one else would doubt the Word of God. Then they would know with out doubt the wages of sin is death. No one else would dare rebel against the Lord again.

Then only Eve would have become self conscious and Adam would have remained an animal.

All this is metaphorical.
Every day the EVE(emotion) overcomes the ADAM(reason) in every person. And that creates desire, makes him/her wanting.
The desire makes the person seek material pleasure instead of the spiritual one. As a result he goes farther and farther from his true self.
Jesus says "Kingdom of heaven is within yourself"
Buddha says "Seek the truth within your self, in your body, in emotions , in sensations , in thoughts , analyze yourself and overcome by maintaining equanimity between pleasure and pain"
