Sometimes people assume I'm a Christian (who hasn't had that experience), and I would like to kindly suggest that there are other beliefs out there.

Were there any historians from that period that wrote anything about him?

many many more deaths and sufferings are caused by Atheists?

Think about it: The Nazi's, The Soviet Union, China, and Cuba. Each country was/is a Totalitarian State run by Atheists. The Nazi's killed 6 million Jews, 3 Million Poles, and a lot of other groups, not to mention the death toll because of war. The Soviet Union oppressed it's own people, and those outside of their own country (ex. Poland). China continues forced abortions for women who already have one child. Cuba, a communist state run by an Atheist man. His people are hungry and dying. He also kills anyone who opposes him.

There are two things that each country has in common with all the others.

1. Atheist Rulers.

2. Oppression of their own people, and the taking away of the freedom of ANY religion.

Many atheists point to the crusades. The crusades from the Christian standpoint were about protecting Jewish and Christian lands from the Muslims.

I was going to do the Mormon thing but can't deal with all of the prejudice against them. It's mental suicide and they don't deserve that. The media always likes to show the negative aspects about Mormonism (ie. polygamy, cult aspects, racism, etc.). They never mention that some Mormons don't believe in those things. I really feel sorry for the Mormons especially the LDS Mormons because they have nobody to defend them.

Matthew 12:31-32
31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

I am a Christian, who is currently struggling with my faith, for many different reasons. For one, I keep hearing different claims that Jesus never existed, and many others, that seem to contain some truth. My main issue is this...I was a raised a Pentecostal, and I noticed that everything concerning Christianity is about rules, and what everyone is doing wrong. There seems to be so much criticism, and judgment in the church. Why are we as so-called Christians so judgemental of others? Another thing is, if we are supposed to be awaiting the arrival of our Lord and Saviour, then why are so many preachers and teachers, such as Joyce Meyer ( whom I actually really love), Creflo Dollar, and etc. always so overly concerned about prosperity teaching, and living in mansions and having designer clothes, and private jets? Is that what Christianity is about? I thought it was about love and acceptance, and forgiveness, etc. I'm starting to understand why Christianity is under attack. Perspectives?

And, what spiritual merit is it to have to keep your true self hidden in the "closet" to assimilate with people who do not like what you are? Some of whom, if they knew, would likely do you bodily harm?

How can you find personal and spiritual fulfillment without being true to who you are?

For me, it is "Does Anybody Hear Her?" by Casting Crowns. You really have to watch the music video to truly understand it:

It's just like every other religion, so I have trouble understanding why people get their panties in a twist over them.

As a non religious person I like to pose questions that provoke thought (and maybe a little something else) in those who have such stifiling beliefs that they fear the natural process of life. Loosen up and live a little. If there is a God I doubt he/she/it is going to be upset that you enjoyed your life, body and short time on this planet.

A lot of people post questions and answers that are obviously trying to change people's minds regarding religion. Has anyone seen anything here that was compelling enough that it actually made you change your beliefs?

could you please tell me why?

2007-07-03 15:49:04 · 24 answers · asked by Anonymous

Would god give a "weaker, subservient sex" the magical capability to maintain and sustain and give birth to new life? Why wasn't the man the vessel to give birth? Surely, if god is so great, he could have easily engineered the "plumbing" differently, right? So, what's so divine and magical about a man's 5 seconds of climax when he makes a few F faces and a sperm deposit? That's the end of his "miracle". The female is where the magic happens. God has to be a chick. Plus, we get to live longer on average, and experience less health problems overall. Plus, women are naturally more spiritually and empathically inclined.

All you dudes need to bow down. Burn your burkas! We are goddesses!!

I mean I am a Mormon and i have plenty of friends. We are not a cult. If you start calling the Mormon church a cult then i could call the baptists or whatever else there is the same, but i am a better person than that. I mean if you actually come to our church or read the book of mormon you would understand. I mean you have no right calling us what you people say we are when you dont even know anything about us. You just go along with what your friends or what you hear in a crowd. Yes we are not perfect and yes there are some bad people that call themselves mormons but if you met a true mormon than you would no the difference. We are people just like you and Personally I think some people are scared because they know we are the true church. So explain to me...
