They're a bigoted, ignorant and prejudiced people on the internet, mostly young teens with nothing to do than slam something they really don't understand.

OK, first of all I don't think that Mormon church is a cult, and the people that are saying that to you are very closed minded individuals. I personally am not a Mormon, but by lumping all non-Mormons in one group (quote: you have no right calling us what YOU PEOPLE say we are...) that isn't going to help the situation. I am sorry that you feel like everyone from every other religion is out to get you or whatever... but by going at it with a bad attitude, you are never going to get your point across. If you want to get a point across, the best way to go about it is NOT placing blame on others (no matter how different their beliefs are from yours). Seriously now, look at it from this perspective... You have basically asked the question, What is wrong with all the non-Mormons? Well, there is nothing wrong with us. Like you said, we are not perfect and there are some bad people out there, but by lumping all the nice decent people out there with the bad ones... well personally that is just as offensive to me as someone calling you a cult member!

Well, I dated a Mormon girl, many years ago, talked with different sets of Mormon "Elders" and roomed for one quarter of college with a Mormon family. I have read parts of the Book of Mormon and Doctrines & Covenants/Pearl of Great Price (and saw the plagraism from the KJV Bible) and spoken with various other Mormons. I have a First Cousin who calls himself a Mormon and had his marriage with his *first* wife "sealed for time and eternity" in a Mormon Temple, before they divorced (he has since married and divorced his second wife, then married his third wife). I have been told about a Mormon guy who tried to convince my wife's sister that she and he were meant for each other before either were born. I have read books by former Mormons and heard about the Mormon religion on Christian radio programs from former Mormons and heard some of the babblings of a Mormon apologist on Christian radio. From what I've seen, heard and read, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints *is* *indeed* a cult and nothing but a cult! And the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not much better!
Sorry, but I, for one, am *not* ignorant of your misguided beliefs! Yes, I've also known some "Jack" Mormons!

I would say it's intolerance exasperated by ignorance on their part. Yes, I have had Mormons knock on my door too, and you know what? I found them to be very polite and charming. I have never had a Mormon try to shove their beliefs down my throat. When I tell them that I respect their religion but it is not for me, they always thank me for my time and leave. I wish all religious groups could let go of it that easily when someone says they are not interested in converting.
As for the polygamy thing, people need to let that go. All churches have had things in their past that they are not too happy about. Since it is no longer part of the mainstream LDS church, it should no longer be held against them.

Mormons go door-to-door preaching--most people are afraid to open their doors to strangers, and either already have a religion, or don't want one.
Until not too long ago, polygamy was still OK with Mormons--and I have heard that it still exists--even though the church disallowed it.
The Mormon's added their own books to the Bible----come on.
Mormons are extremely intolerant of anyone different than themselves.
Mormons try to take over the lives of non-Mormons. I knew someone they tried to get move into one of their homes---come on...
There are many other Christian denominations that do not do these things, ie, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians....
The Catholics aren't even trying to convert everybody, any more.
No one knows what the true church is...if any. Remember that God did not invent religions--man did.

Everyone thinks THEY are the real church.
Mormons do some stuff that most people find strange. Baptizing the dead by proxy. Polygamy. Oppression of women. Storing up food for the end of the world. I did some music work for my local LDS church. These things match what we know about a lot of cults. I am not saying you are a cult-just answering your question.
Oh and you have a "writer's tick." I mean, I mean, I mean three times in one short paragraph.

I don't have any problems with mormons so long as you will quit knocking on my door and trying to save my nonexistent soul. You may worship whatever you like, you can have all the wives you want. Just don't put your beliefs on me and we'll be fine. I have been called names by the holier than thou cast. I am an atheist, I believe you're wasting your time, but it's yours to waste. So if I walk down the street in a leather mini, don't call me the whore of babalon, and we'll get along just fine.

It messed with my OCD, that perfection thingie just made my OCD worse, growing up with a father who had it, who was a mr. Clean freak makes me wonder if I got my OCD from watching his pattern, so I blame the church, not heritary mesures. My mom used the church to deny her depression and opress me as use me as a slave to clean her house. I saw people in my ward who wanted to be superheros who believed they were already Gods, people who had that suoerior disorder that thought they were demi-gods, it was just not good. I couldn't stay in that kind of envirnment. It had nothing to do with christ all to do with personal ego.
Besides as a christian I am never suidal anymore, I see miracles and healing and never saw tha tin the mormon church, the church seemed dead to me. The presisthood was like a Harry Potter spoof, I have actually seen a crossed eyed guys eyes straightened before my eyes after he was being prayed over. Never saw anything like that in the LDS church. I saw a skate board teen fal from a two story building walk away with just a scratch and a headache, he amazed his nonchristian doctors who thought he should have been brain damaged or dead. I've seen demon possessed people freed, never saw anything like that in the mormon church. Sorry, but th echurch was dead to me.

I have nothing against the the tittle of Mormon..... but as you stated, you call yourselves the *true church*, and in the bible the *true Church* are the children of God, those who know and accept Jesus as saviour, who accept he was crucified and died, who was buried and was resurected...... I belong to no church house....... I am just being honest and mean NO disrespect to any one........ just stating the written word of God....... the Bible is the *living* word and can NOT be added to or taken from....... and that also is in the Bible...... *sigh*.......... just stating facts........... God bless
