God told Abraham, Get thee out of thy country, kindred, and from thy father's house unto the land I will shew thee, verse 4, Abraham departed and took his wife inlcuding others. Why did God mention his wife's name since they were together. Does it mean that God was encouraging divorce when He said thou shall not divorce. And why did Abraham had to take his wife along since God directed the instruction to him alone?

Some people do it because of mental health problems and they really need help, but what about those who are affected by religions and ideologies? What is their motivation after all?

i don't mean the book of numbers from the torah, i mean actual numbers. 7 is said to be the number of perfection (7 spirits, 7 churches of asia, 7 times around the wall of jericho), and it seems that the number 40 may have some kind of meaning also (40 days and nights of rain, 40 days of Jesus fasting in the desert, 40 years of moses wandering in the desert). what are some more numbers and what, if anything, do they imply?

I remember in church on weds. nights was testimony night at the church house.
Everybody would give up an issue to be prayed for and the next weds. night a lot of them would acknowledge their prayers were answered and new issues would be prayed for.
Was really incredible to see god work in peoples lives.
Is their a site for this kind of practice?

according to mormon theology and lds revelation: NOTHING.

heres a link to a couple verses:

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/59/21a

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/13/41b cast out those that offend

I think that i have read also that You can offend the lawgiver, but by not giving thanks you can offend God. I know that blaspheming the HOLY Ghost is an offense as well, that cannot be forgiven.

Is this verse true? !!!

A majority of providers of medicine & other clinical care in Africa are Catholic Missionaries. The missionaries may believe in abstinence but the locals don't.

Should the locals be condemned by a religion that ultimately governs their fate?

If Pope says no to condoms then the people of Africa get none.

Should the Catholic Missionaries provide condoms to these people to combat HIV/AIDS?

Why does the bible have an "Old Testament" and a "New Testament"? Didn't he get it right the first time? If he's infallible, why did he need an update?

Okay, about two nights ago, before I was going to bed, I noticed the closet doors slid shut. It was about 1am when I went to bed and I woke up three hours later. When I looked at the closet doors, one was slid half open. Nobody was in my room at any time during my sleep, because I would notice the door open. My window was wide open as well, and there was a bit of a breeze flowing in, but not enough to slide the closet door open. It's creepy, I seriously don't know what caused it to open. There's nothing in there except for a sleeping bag at the bottom, in the corner. The house I live in is fairly new. It's standing where my grandma's old house used to be. Well, it's a very long shot that her ghost would open the door, because she passed away in the hospital. Maybe I'm just paranoid? But, seriously, it's a bit scary. Well, my grandma was very kind and we have never held any grudges or anything against her so she's out of the question. What do you think?

As a reader this question of Angels has come up many times recently. Yes, there are many books on the subject but most seem to be the kind attention of strangers at a difficult time. I am wondering about experiences closer to , well, visitations. Thanks. Interests come in waves and this is the current one.
