I remember in church on weds. nights was testimony night at the church house.
Everybody would give up an issue to be prayed for and the next weds. night a lot of them would acknowledge their prayers were answered and new issues would be prayed for.
Was really incredible to see god work in peoples lives.
Is their a site for this kind of practice?

I generally refrain touching religious topics. But I can say about my self. I believe we ask and ask too much from God, have we ever give him some thing that he really needs? We even do not know what he needs. All we know is to ask and ask more.
God has given me this life and I live in a world created by him so I try my best to follow a life which cares its values and I respect the lives of others, I help the needy, I attend to their wound, I console the grieving hearts, I love children and I love the best creation of God the trees the flowers the rivers, the rain, the sun, the moon.

If ever God ask me what have I done than I will only say I loved what you created. If you think this is not a prayer than I am sorry I do not know how to pray.

yes, but pray to God so that he can answer something specific. I beleive that God answers all sincere prayers. Let me give you an example:

I knew a man that had not fully accepted Christ and his teachings. People had talked with him for years about it and he was not yet ready or convinced. I prayed and fasted for 3 days on his behalf that he would 'come to the light'. I went and spoke with him again. At that time I had the very strong impression to tell this man that God wanted to accept him and forgive him of his sins. The feelings were so strong that i could not hold back the tears as I plead with him to accept Christ fully. He accepted Christ and baptism of the water and the spirit. One week later i learned that he had confessed to others and his wife that he had had an affair with another woman earlier in his life. I suppose that had held him back from accepting Christ. Perhaps he thought that he wouldn't be forgiven or that his wife and others would not forgive him. He put all of his pride, family, marriage, and everything that meant the most to him to humble himself before God and others and to prove that he was sorry and willing to ask forgiveness of those that he had wronged. He decided that he would make the confession and allow others the chance to forgive or condemn him. It was difficult for his wife and children, but they forgave him and proved that they loved him even for his mistakes-just as God loves all of us. All of his children have followed him to become beleivers. The last time that I met with him (he lives in another part of the world now), he was happy for the decision that he made and was active in spreading the joy that the teachings and lifestyle that Jesus taught brings to people.

I beleive that God answered my prayer by inspiring me to say just what the man needed to hear to reach the core of the problem. As I write this my heart bursts with the feeling that I can only describe as the Holy Spirit acting on me and through me. If you feel the same and can remember that feeling, then you will recognise the 'voice' of God as he answers your prayers.

I think prayer is a concrete example of someones first steps into finding God.

To find God you need to have faith that he exists. Next you have to put your faith to the test by putting God to the test, in a sense.

By praying to him you put both faith and action together and you have the seedlings of the opportunity to find God through prayer. He answers prayers by many different means. It's up to you to be open enough to recognize that it was indeed God's handiwork and not just a coincidence in some cases.

The first step in finding God is to count the cost of finding God. God is not someone we are going to casually meet then go off and be alone again. When we find God we are going to have to surrender the control of our life to Him.

Many people want to use God to get what they want. They want to pray for something and they want God to do it. But God is the only reward for finding God. So if you've looked into your heart and have considered why you're seeking God, go ahead and pray.

I appreciate your enjoyment of seeing God work in peoples' lives, but I personally don't believe the "first step" to find God is prayer, unless God draws a person to that.

I believe that "the first step" comes from being loved. In fact in I John the Bible tells us "We love because he first loved us." To me, that says the only reason we are even ABLE to love is because we were first loved by God.
Children adopt (or don't adopt) their parents beliefs by-and-large because of the love associated with it (or, again, lack of love.)
Granted, people can change from a childhood set of beliefs, but again, I think it's only through love that real change comes about. In any area of peoples' lives.

Belief comes before prayer.
One needs to believe their prayers will be heard even when not always answered in the time frame or fashion we would like.

This is called mass delusion. You are saying that the first step to finding a non-existent being is to try to talk to them?
