becasue it furthers your own belief in going to heaven?
Is it true you try to do good deeds for the same reason?
Is it true that everything you do is selfish as it is to further your own deluded belief in an afterlife?

Bukari: “”the prophet said, "isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" the women said, "yes." he said, "this is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind."” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/bukhari/048.sbt.html#003.048.826

A common answer Muslims have (to western audiences) is that some haddiths have been corrupted. Notice that they dont rennounce or deny the validity of this verse in the Bukhari when they say that.

Another response I often here to explain this verse is stuff like "ohh well, us woman make-up for it." Its astounding, they literally accept it and laugh it off, like its just a reality of life that woman are deficient of the mind.

I suppose this is a paradox because, any woman who accepts savage Muhammad's stupid claim that woman are deficient of the mind, are deficient of the mind! Naturally the answer to this paradox is easy, considering that under Islam they are raised to have low self esteem.

I just asked a question in the Psychology section about why baby cries are so nerve wracking, and some of the responses was: its natures way of making sure babies get attention.

But why on earth would humans evolve as to be annoyed by the sound of a baby cry?

Not that I'm planning his death, but if we both died together, could we be funeralised together in my church? Would we have to have separate services at separate churches? If he died now, would I be able to give him a Catholic service as the rest of the family is Catholic and practicing? Does he need to convert officially?

After going threw really bad choices (drugs, sex, etc.) from ages of 16-18 I became inactive. I am now 21 and I am trying to emotionally gear myself to going back and becoming active again.

I believe in the church with all of my heart and I know the gospel is true. I am just having a really hard time giving up worldly things, like drinking, etc. I know the Lord will forgive me of my wrongful choices and welcome me back to the fold. I know this! I just can't understand it.

My Husband (who isn't a member but is will to go to church) and I have a 19 month old daughter and I can't get passed the idea that she isn't learning the gospel.

What can I do to help reconvert myself? I know the obvious... like read your scriptures and pray. We have also had the missionaries over often. I have and yes it has helped but I am still not where I should be.

I have really bad social anxiety and that is another piece in the puzzle. Thanks for your help. And please, no Mormon bashing.

I do, think it's stupid to assume that humans are the most intelligent life form in the entire universe.

If you disagree with this verse can you please site the verse where it says Paul was just kidding?

1 Corinthians 14:34-36
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church

That is the Question.

1 Troy 3:16 ~ Must we continue in bashing that anger may abound?

Everybody gets bashed contantly on Yahoo Answer for asking question, do you ever think to yourself "I'd rather not bash them because i don't want to cause any problems for others who see my answers".

Often many get embarrassed because of the actions of others who are of the same belief ( Ex. If a Christian bashed and atheist because he asked a question, then another Christian who sees the other Christians answer might feel embarassaed because we should not act like that. This goes for all beliefs including Non-Believers.

Can we all just stop the bashing? Whats your opinion?

If you don't undestand this question, please don't answer this question with an assumption that im attacking a particular group, its a general question.

I like to think that everyone has a sense of humor, though some more than others. I would like to know what comic strips you like and find funny. You can also say which ones fall flat with you, if you like.
My personal favorites are Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine. I do not care for Andy Capp.

in other words, evil came into the world and manifest itself in various ways because we, those given free will, freely chose to ignore gods laws?

from an atheist perspective, evil exists because people have gone against the laws of nature?

A regular R and S visitor had posted a picture of God in his question. All saw the beautiful picture and thanked him. Two days later to our disappointment some unscruplous person reported it and yahoo team as usual erased it without any verification(I think). Now I saw yesterday that the picture is suddenly back although no one did anything to bring it back. That picture was of Shirdi Sain Baba. I am very happy.

What did I do that requires divine forgiveness? It must have been something pretty bad for me to deserve an eternity in hell. In fact, its impossible to commit a crime nasty enough to deserve eternal suffering. So why do I need to ask forgiveness? If I do something bad to a person, I apologize to that person. Why apologize to a "higher power?"

For my "sins?" C'mon. I refuse to believe a little lust or a white lie requires a divine judgement.
