Is the noise from your house the ONLY obstacle for meditation? Even though you are in a quiet place, mind interruptions still occurs like recent events, school stuffs, friends and many more thoughts.....

Noise from house can be altered but can it be done for the thoughts within? Seeing a bigger issue? When you overcome the obstacles within, your house noise wouldn't be a big issue.

Breathing technique and concentration on one single point like (white paper with a black dot in the middle) might help you from the common thoughts you have in you and yes from your home as well. This is one of the First steps for now...

When this work then excel to another level by finding out yourself cause there is nothing exciting in Self Realization..Good Luck

Use the noise as a Mindfulness Bell. Each time you hear some noise return to the interior architecture of your mind. I know it's a struggle, but if you work at not having an emotional attachment to the noise around, you will become even stronger in your mastery over the mind.

that's a good thin u wana do .
choose a room in a separate corner of the house or the terrace, close the door and just tell everybody not to disturb you and stay away from ur room for some time
maybe earplugs would lower the noise

and anyway try meditating in whatever conditions
that is the whole thin bout
good luck

You do not need quiet to meditate and must not block out noise.

Get some guidance from a good teacher. The object of meditation is to acknowledge the sounds, smeels or whatever is around you. You do not want to block anything out, but the first purpose of meditation is to become aware or MINDFULL or your surrounds.

Get professional guidance on how to meditate. If soemone says you have to block out sounds, then you can know that they do not practice correctly.

Do it at night. It is better at dawn or midnight. Do you know how to meditate? That is more important than the places or time. It is good to know that a young person like you search for the heart of the unknown or of your faith while many of your age group is in other worldly things. Both of you are not wrong in your choices. Some like their coffee with milk , other without. I will personally pray for your quest in the infinite. May all your wishes come true. ....Blesses

read some books on Zen. the purpose of meditation is generally to block out the noise outside.

remmeber though, it takes constant practice, even the buddah took years to perfect the practice.

dont get hung up on distracting thoughts and noises, just acknowledge them and go back to the meditation.

practice makes perfect.

well the art of meditation is all about your ability to block out all distractions including all noises with / from your mind.

there is no point in going to try and medidate in an absolutely dead quiet place, that will defeat the point.

Breathe in....breathe out......
THERE IS NO SPOON

You need some noise of your own.
"white noise" is noise that is peaceful.

Play a relaxing CD, like the kind they use when you get a massage.

well, i guess all you can do is try to block it out. maybe concentrate on a fan or crickets or birds or something like that and just ignore the other noises. maybe stare at something or at nothing.

hope that helps =)
