I don't like this original sin jazz. I don't feel I should be held accountable for stuff my ancestors (Adam and Eve) did 6500 years ago any more than somebody getting executed 2000 years ago does me any good.
I guess we should expect that sort of reasoning from a being that exists outside of Time.

We were born sinners , from the time we came into this world.
When you sin against someone , you sin against God also.
Would you not consider some sins that are committed against children and others, justification for hell?
But there is forgiveness for all.
The Bible makes it clear that all are sinners (Romans 3:23). All have broken God's law to one degree or another. 1 John 1:8-10 says,

Well to start all creation is under a curse of sin since the time of Adam.
All have sinned as you said - a little lust or white lie.
To God a sin is a sin no matter what. We may say one is more evil than an other but to God it is what it is - sin.
The wages of sin is death. So one sin, even a little white lie, makes us unrighteous in the eyes of God. We gain the death penalty.
Now in the old days the Israelites sacrificed things to attone for sins. The blood of the animal was shed to cleanse man from its sins. As you can imagine a lot of animals were sacrificed as man liked to sin.
Now we get to a point where God wanted to reconcile all creation and he sent Jesus to be the 'lamb' of God. God sacrificed Jesus to attone for the sins of man once and for all.
The sin debt was paid and no more sacrifice is needed. According to some scripture we all have this free gift.
Some say it requires faith and belief for it to be applied to you.
I'm still studying the subject so I won't give anything conclusive here on that subject.
On apologizing - So you ask for forgiveness of yours sins against the person and God because you have sinned against God by disobeying him by not walking according to his image. The person - well that's obvious why you apologize to them.

You need saving because you are a sinner in need of a Saviour. Why apologize to God? Because God is perfectly holy. So holy that He could not even look upon Jesus when He was on the cross because Jesus was covered in mine and your sins. The only way that we can have fellowship with the Lord, to be able to come into His presence or to have the favor of God is to have a clean heart ( forgiveness). If you were a child of God you would understand this and daily run to the foot of the cross seeking His forgiveness because your greatest desire is Him. I never question my need for forgiveness. I'm way too thankful to have it than to curse it.

I guess to each his own, but for myself I would rather ask God's forgiveness and sleep well at night believing in heaven and hell, knowing that if I don't awake in the morning in this world it will be in a better place.
Wouldn't you rather live as if there is a hell and die to find out there never was or live as if there isn't and die to find out there was and you have to spend eternity there.
You should also remember, all God asks of you is to be a good person, love your neighbor, ect....these are things any decent person does anyway.

can you see as a someone that has faith if you are a christian we need divine forgiveness because there is the serpent aka the devil whick ttemtates us to do sin even if you say sorry its still record in the book.like a math problem negative is a sin posotive is your good deeds add both and the greater number in the equation is the same sign.icant interpret here well so heres an example....
you have
+917 GOOD DEEDS + (-916) SINS = 1 THAT MEANS YOU GO TO HEAVEN
1 MORE THING IN THE BIBLE GENISIS ADAM AND EVE GOT AN IMMORTAL SIN BY DISOBEYING GOD WHICH IS NOW IN EVERY HUMAN TODAY.

You did kinda answer your own question.
"If I do something bad to a person, I apologize to that person" therefore if you do something to God should you not ask forgiveness of Him?
I ask you:
Have you ever used the Lord's name in Vain? Should you not apologise?
Have you acknowledged what He has done for you or are you a spoilt child (metaphorically) who takes without thanking? Should you not thank Him?
And there are many other examples of things that we should apologise for.
As for 'eternal punishment' would it not be eternal punishment to spend eternity with God if you were forced to do it? Of course it would. Therefore God gives us the choice to spend eternity away from Him if we choose to. This place is called hell and it is cut off from God in every way. It is also cut off from God's qualities (love, peace, comfort, food, water, life, rest, ect). Anyone who wants to spend eternity away from God in a place without Love, healing, comfort, food, water, life, light, rest, ect is more than welcome but do not be like a spoilt child who wants both the absence of God while keeping the benefits of His presence.
I would also like to ask: if a 'little' lust led you to cheat on your wife do you think you deserve forgiveness? How many times should you be forgiven? What if you gave her HIV/AIDS or some other STD? Should she still forgive you? Would you forgive her in the same situation? Do you truly value her when you look at pornography or imagine yourself with another woman?

You really opened a can of worms with this question didn't you Reverend C? They are banging you over the head with the "Sin" word and inserting a few " Satan's" in there for good measure. Sigh.....

We are all born into sin and are worthy of death, Are we born good people who don't sin at all? No, we all sin, its easier to sin then to do Good. It not about excaping Hell, its about having a relationship with the one who created you. We should not serve God to excape a place of torment but the body of God (Jesus) died for us on the cross so what can we do in return?
