...a God that's "not there", that "does not exist"?

These SAME people erroneously profess "THERE is no God!, There is no God!"
People seem to spend endless hours on here attacking peoples religion and their God. It's as if they're possessed or something.

isn't that approaching something akin to say....insanity?

Apperantly Issac Newton belives it'll end in 2060. The aztecs, according to their calender, will be 2012.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's the year 2007. Who honestly thinks the world will end in 5 years?

If your answer deals with religion, please explain.
(No, I have not read the bible)

if everything in heaven was so wonderful why would lucifer rebel? Not to mention many of the other angels. Doesn't that suggest heaven isn't so great?

When I read the Quran, all I see is a cowardly God who forces his sheeple to fight for him, it infuriates me.

What can I say to get this miserable coward on earth to face me himself, if he hates me so much? I will bisect him with a long iron rod, where his corpse will stand vertical for all to see...right on top of the ugly black rock.

I know it probably has nothing to do with religion. But I'm an atheist and I LOVE cartoons. I love sesame street, and I love the Fairly Odd Parents and Jimmy Neutron and Powerpuff Girls and all that. (I'm 22 years old by the way, lol). But I think if more people watched cartoons and stayed in touch with their inner child, there would be a lot less fighting going on. So who here watches cartoons?? And just to be nice, here's a very funny Sesame Street sketch that I think everyone needs to watch ^_^!

When you REALLY know Him; you CAN'T stop talking about His Love, His grace, the peace that He has planted inside of you.
Ironically, it's amazing that those that "oppose" God, CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM EITHER!!
Even enemies of the cross can't stop talking about Him. Of course, they're talking about Him is to their OWN destruction.
But yet and still, these souls are compelled to have Jesus on theire minds DAILY, on their lips, on their "finger tips" (peckin' away on their little keyboards). He IS amazing!

Seeing the comments on here: It appears atheists believe they're all-knowing. The concept of God is all-knowing(not a guy in the sky or whatever, but an all-knowing 'being'). Using A=B, B=C, then A=C, you could come up with the conclusion that (some) atheists think they're God?
Nothing is truly objective in life.

Whenever she has him alone she tells him that Jehovah created animals and trees and simple things like this. Which would be fine if I were practicing this religion but Im not. Because Ive been having trouble finding a place to worship I (along with my fiance) have been teaching him that God is our Creator and He makes all things possible and we must love Him with all our hearts. He's only 5 and its hard explaning to a 5 year old why Jehovah doesnt live in Heaven with Santa Claus. I totally repspect my families belief but I havent completely told them that I no longer share their beliefs. How should I tell my sister without offending her?

it's been a while for me know, but I really do not have a church at the moment, so I can not get into the spirit and worship him. I have also swiched my way to judism for a while, but with these experiances I keep being broght back to christianity....I have being touched so strongly, I weep uncontrolably unto God and brought to my knees....I sware I am a water fall.....I weep so bad that people around me notice me and ask if I am alright? I shove them away, because I get so little of his spirit and I am so hungry and it feels so nice to me, so relaxing.

I believe that somehow the universe had a beginning, a great designer (of course there is no proof, as there is no proof for many of the scientific theories) I can't see how the universe has always been, I believe there is something "grand" outside of space and time...what am I?

The Apostle Paul wrote:

"But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's Brother." Galatians 1:19

doesnt this Verse say Jesus had a brother?

Early Christians Wrote:

"Let those, therefore, who deny that the Son is by nature from the Father and proper to his essence deny also that he took true human flesh from the Ever-Virgin Mary" (Discourses Against the Arians 2:70 [A.D. 360]).

Ambrose of Milan:
"Imitate her [Mary], holy mothers, who in her only dearly beloved Son set forth so great an example of material virtue; for neither have you sweeter children [than Jesus], nor did the Virgin seek the consolation of being able to bear another son" (Letters 63:111 [A.D. 388]).

Who is right?

Why DID you or why WOULDN'T you ever join the LDS (Mormon) church? Real reasons, please don't say "because they're a cult" or "they're not Christian".

I am doing bible study now and I'm trying to see what you think of this question?

2007-07-03 17:48:51 · 12 answers · asked by valwilliams05 1

Countless times I've read Atheists attacking Christians with insults such as "bigot", "hypocrite," and I've seen no better from the Christians, calling (us) Atheists "damned to Hell," along with various other statements putting (us) Atheists down. I just have a few questions to ask here.. mostly for those of Christian faith:

1. God teaches love and compassion. With that, do you feel ashamed of yourselves in any way for putting us down and calling us an "enemy" because we don't follow your faith?
2. In the Bible Jesus says, "If you deny my before man, I will deny you before my father in Heaven." Suggesting that we're given the option to either "take it or leave it" with Jesus' words, why do you still feel the need to "save us from damnation"?
3. If you know in your heart and in your head that you're right about whether God exists or not, why does it matter in any way what I or anybody else believes? Why is it so capital that everyone believe in God?

Just a few thoughts...

2007-07-03 17:47:24 · 33 answers · asked by Anonymous

Do you believe that the stories in these versions are true? What is your basis for believing or not believing in them? Why believe in one book just because it is included in the Bible, but not in another just because it was left out?

Just curious to hear your thoughts. I'm not a Christian, but I think the early history of Christianity is very interesting and I would love to hear your thoughts on this issue.

Thank you for your answers.
