It seems that your soul is healing from something. Yes, I have had that experience... and many, many others.
Seek a church, pray constantly and continue your worship. Try to control yourself in public, but in your private times, like when you are at home, you can bring to your knees and pray, pray, pray, and weep if you have to. It is very powerful. And you will be another person: a better one.

It's never happened to me but I have seen it happen but I do not think that it is brought on by any sort of deity. That sensation that people feel is completely self-created. The mind is a wonderful and awesome thing which has evolved for millennia to the point where it can seemingly make illusions into reality.
If someone thinks that they are close to god their body will create its own sensation comparable to the sensation you feel when you are extremely excited, afraid, or sad. This has been documented many many times and thoroughly studied.
Often times the setting for these events are amongst a group. When people are in groups another phenomenon often occurs in which people become mentally bonded in a strange way. I'm sure you've all heard of "mob mentality" well that is what this is. When emotions run high (as they often do when concerning religion) and you are in a group your mind can make your body feel as if you are connecting with god. If your mind thinks it your body can feel it.
So when people say that they have "felt god" it was actually just all in their head.

YES! Yes, yes yes! I cannot tell you how many times I have been brought to my knees and crying for joy after the Eucharist. Just sitting here typing this has brought tears to my eyes and joy to my soul. I always tear up during Mass and I can't control it, even when I try to hold back my tears.
It's an amazing feeling and I'm so glad to feel it during Mass almost every Sunday, I don't know what I would do if I could never have the feeling again.

This is the Holy Spirit that brings you and lets you know of the good feeling. I know it is not like any feeling you can get from anyone on this earth. He is calling to you. And I believe that you are very highly possible to be destined to go to heaven. God does not just reach out to anyone like that. You must have a good heart, and God knows it. Dont let the world change you. Choose God, he will not let yo down like peolpe here will.

A few years back, kneeling in the Catholic Church before the in the Physical Presence of CHRIST in the Blessed Sacrament, I suddenly wept hard, and there were a couple of older women several pews ahead of me, who turned their heads as if wondering if they heard something a moment, but nobody bothered me. I was one of four people in there to pray.
As for the comment of Denny Crane, he belongs to the hell on earth I was delivered out of in my childhood, and they have no miracles, no saints, no martyrs, no history, no fulness of life. Just the dead flowers of their almost living grave, which is the veil between them and the CREATOR of man's deepest aspirations.

one of the best things that comes from sorrow and afflictions is the ability to relate to others who are suffering.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. - Psalm 30:5.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. - Psalm 126:5.

Several times I have been brought to my knees in an uncontrolable weeping before God. He was humbling me, and I was washing out my soul........
Each time, He lifted me up and I became all the stronger and my faith more cemented.

I'm not Christian or any religion as far as that goes, but yes in my spiritual being I've been brought to the point of weeping, sometime weeping for joy in my realization and other times in pain for my selfishness.......You don't need religion or faith to know god, all you have to do is come to realization of your true being.
