I think I am on your wave-length here...
I call it a signature, it is when for instance a person dies and they have passed on through to the light...
They leave some of their essence behind in this World, especially if they lived in a particular house for a very long time...
Also in England there have been many recorded sightings of battles that took place hundreds, perhaps even a few thousand years ago...
These battles were so ferocious and bloody that the area where they fought is extremely sensitive and people have witnessed a window of the battle...
This sort of signature is well documented....

We can leave traces of ourselves just by Keeping a daily journal (I'd recommend that if you do it on the computer, print it off in hard copy). Make sure that your children recieve it upon your death and it'll be passed down from generation to generation. I am an 11th generation Acadian and the founder of our family (In Canada) kept a journal and it is STILL available to be read by ALL of his descendents today. Some of his thoughts and insights were VERY revealing to our generation and many of the same concerns that we experience today were shared by the folks of the 16th and 17th Centuries.

What do you mean by traces?like a hand print? if you want to be remembered by the ones left behind then you can do something to remember you by.In memory you can trace the most valuable moments in life to be treasured for.Ex. if you have some antiques of any kind then you leave it someone you really like to have it. Just nominate whoever she is.No one will contest if that's the case,.but traces like files I think you can too. Just put them in a trust so that it will not be lost.

We are all interconnected. People I have never met have changed my life through their actions, and I have changed people I have never met by my existence. For example, my father once said I wish I had made a real difference in my life. I explained to him that as a boss he had hired many people and given them good jobs. Some of these people had children. I asked him "do you think anyone you ever hired put their child through college with the paycheck you gave them?" Then I explained that some of these children must have gone on to become doctors and in doing so saved lives. The lives they saved then went on to change other people's lives. So, we all live on through others... even if we never meet.

If you want to know how much you'll be missed when you're gone, go down to the river and put your finger in it. Then pull it out and see what kind of hole you've left.
