their lies to the lost and saying they are Christians when they do NOT believe in the deity of Christ. And what better day to preach the gospel then on a day that means freedom to our country? (USA) I really feel like God is calling me to do this and I've rec'd some confirmation, but I'm nervous! If you guys can give me any tips I would appreciate it too! Thanks and God Bless!

As John Mayer asks in his song "Belief" is there anyone who ever remembers changing their mind from the paint on a sign? I would add tracts and pamphlets. Save the trees and live the life, walk the walk, attract with your upright conduct and behavior and intelligent, respectful discourse. Create unity with integrated thoughts and actions. Avoid adding to the chaos through disuniting, disintegrative thoughts and actions.

You people are inordinately fond of hijacking holidays, aren't you? Here's a tip: just leave people alone on Independence Day. They are not there to read your screeds, they are there to look at all the pretty floats, hear the music, and have fun. You must know that all of your tracts will end up in a landfill, so why bother?
By the way, if you go ahead with your idiocy, and your plans involve Racine, Wisconsin, I advise you to keep WELL AWAY from big guys with beards, because anyone trying to hand ME a tract tomorrow will get a nice punch in the nose for his trouble.

If you are feeling nervous about this, isn’t it possible God is trying to tell you something? Like, what business is it of yours if people have a different perspective? Couldn’t your time be better spent actually doing something productive?

Find an elderly person in your neighborhood who needs help with repairs or yard work.

Visit a veteran or elderly person in a nursing home.

Do something, anything that is positive instead of spending your day badmouthing people for thinking differently than you.

Christ’s message was all about changing ourselves. Then, as we submit our will to His will, He can work through us. If you live your life according to Christ’s teachings, Christ can work though you and there will be no need to pass out tracts about anything. The truth will be in your own life for others to see.

Focus on the positives your sect has to offer instead of tearing down others. You didn't mention which sects you consider "cults" but I'm willing to bet that we have a presidential candidate that follows one. If that's the case, make sure you're not politically motivated.

Treat others as you would want to be treated.

This country was built on every race, creed, color AND RELIGION, how can you say that Independence Day is a day to preach only the gospel?! You closed minded jack a55. More people of different religions died so you could practice your religion than you will ever know. You are like every other Christian: a hypocrite.

If you can't stand behind our troops, please stand in front of them.

A group of us went door to door asking for prayer requests, as we were having a day set aside for praying for our community.
We didn't proclaim our denomination as superior, or put down anyone else's beliefs.
Our church grew from this, and we got the pulse-beat of our community, learning of their needs and then ministering to them. It is kinda like "if you build it they will come". The neighborhood saw that our heart was for the community and they wanted to be a part of it.

A few people didn't open their doors, but most did, and no one was rude, and MANY were happy to give us their prayer requests.

Too bad you're going out selling your "brand" of Christianity - seems to me that a belief in christ is a belief in christ....

So you have to diminish someone else's belief because it doesn't match your own?

I wholeheartedly encourage you to go teach about Christ - spread the word - I just don't get why you feel the need to belittle someone else's belief?

The BEST advice anyone can give to you is take "no thanks" for an answer and do NOT just shove your literature onto someone who clearly is NOT interested in recieveing it. You do NOT have the RIGHT to force someone else to end up having to dispose of what, to them, is solid waste.

I am proud of you and your group. Thank you for your efforts. My prayers are with you and your mission.

Psalms 91:11-12 (KJV):
"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone."

............................
Prayer:

Lord, we praise you for your Word, for sheltering us from harm, for watching over us when we are terrified in the night and when we feel the weight of piercing arrows during the day. May we listen for your footsteps to remind us that you are traveling our path also and that you are carrying our ministry along with us. We thank you for your gracious love and for being in us, and with us, and for us. Lord, lead the way and guide us along the path set for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
