One can keep Hanuman Chalisa with him always, provided he is extremely clean of heart and his Bhakti is unmatchable.

Sri Hanuman is an epitome of all excellent qualities endowed in a single individual.

Sri Hanuman is a Naishtika Brahmachari.
He interacted with several females in his life, but his character was unsullied.

His Bhakti and His selfless service to Sri Rama and Sita Devi have earned a special place in Ramayana.
No wonder He was bestowed the reward of being the next Brahma.

But Sri Hanuman is also an observer of perfect discipline.
If one tries not to break his avoved path of purity in mind, body and spirit, Sri Hanuman will Himself come to his rescue and help him.

Remember that Sri Hanuman is a Chiranjeevi and therefore His Chaithanya is very powerful.
What is therefore needed is exceptional purity of heart and mind, in all matters.
Blessings.

If it is for protection and to bring courage and strength when one isn't well versed in the Hanuman Chalisa and still in need of a form of physical rememberance, it is highly advisable.

If there is nothing to it, keep the Hanuman Chalisa in our heart... That is the most powerful and personal Hanuman Chalisa for all of us.

:-)

Hanuman Baktha should keep Hauman always in his heart and not in his pocket. If you memorise the Hanuman Chalisa there is no need for the Book.

Venky I would suggest not doing that.Plese keep your Hanumaan chaalisa in the temple or a clean seperate place where you keep holy books.
Just as one shouldnt enter the temple without bathing and wearing clean clothes it isnt right to keep holy books in pocket of clothes. We are unclean many times and when you sleep you shouldnt sleep over it

If you want the sense of security or togetherness just pray or read Hanuman Chalisa before you go to bed.Or keep it at your bed side table.I often do that ie keep the book on the bedside table

better keep it in your shirt pocket while sleeping. you should remember chalisa well, and chant it before sleeping. that would be the real thing.
