I am going to choose a different term.
Instead of describe, I will say examine.
"Description" to me brings to mind the endless loops of the same old stories. Holding in place who I was, what I believed in.
Examination, on the other hand, indicates I have looked with a true and clear eye, allowed it to stand as it is, and forgiven what I judge in myself. In that, I begin to lift out of the karmic wheel - I have no further need to come back and get it right. It is good enough now. Enlightenment surely follows as I grant myself this grace, and move into being fully present. No longer whipsawed by the past.

How much am I willing to describe ? Depends on the moment and circumstances. Of late I seem to be coming to the understanding that less is more and the awareness of the power of simplicity. At this moment I'll reply with this in relation to enlightenment . . .I'm sending a soul hug your way...no words...simply a hug to you soul. ~ Breath ~ The answer to your posted question is in that.

No. Enlightenment cannot be likened to anything.
The enlightened state is prior to mind, beyond life story, is not experienced by an experiencer, and cannot be described.
Furthermore, there is no enlightenment. It is a concept in the mind of the one who is still living in concepts.

Being aware of the subconscious and conscience worlds and understanding the purity of the essence of what is and is not seen, being one in harmony with the conflicting forces and finding balance to comfort, silence and empower the soul through self comprehension, environmental awareness and universal analysis.

"Enlightenment" is simply recognizing/realizing what we actually are, beneath our analytical brain waves. You are over-thinking this. Think less, be more. Ego analyzes, mind just is. Just be the truth of you.

Ahhhh, no. The first answer to your question was well said. I would add:
"That which was never asleep, must awaken, and that which was never awake, must sleep."

Enlightenment is coping onto the fact that all the religious freaks around you are talking crap.
