There is no scripture that supports hell as an place where people are tortured eternally.

1) The reward of believers in Jesus is eternal life. The punishment of non-believers is death. (Romans 6:23) If non-believers live forever in hell then they also have eternal life and that is not scriptural.

2) Revelations 20:10 says the devil will be thrown into the lake of fire where the beast and false prophet were, and HE THE DEVIL will be tormented forever, not anyone else. If you go back to Revelations 19:20 when the beast and false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire, it doesn't say they will be tormented forever.

The concept of hell as an eternal place is ok because death is an eternal state. I have no problem with that. But the concept of hell being a place where people will be eternally tortured is not scriptural. It also does not fit with the character of God.

Most of the question in the spiritual site are being abuse by the questioner on christianity. They twist the bible, make mockery question, hurt the christian feeling by insult, belittle, swear, curse in their additional section and get away without being slam for abuse while the answerer are caution according to the rules. We have to answer in politeness while they are allow to manipulate and insult our faith. We cannot content with them nor hurt them, Is this fair!. They get bolder and even dare to say they are doing it for their faith. They are not looking for answer but persecuting us.e.g. Punter Question. This is an adult section and the young one that come to this site must know this is a serious section and they might get hurt by reading the answerer to the question asked. Why all the hypocritecy? If they can insult us why can't we give it them back their medicine. Why can't we make a mockery of their foolishness. Why must we have to answer and then get mock. This is total abuse

Cute story.

I have had a couple of visitors from the UK here for a few days. Yesterday Romy jokingly said, 'how dare you celebrate your independence from us. You people didn't fight fair. You wore regular clothes and hid out in trees while we wore red coats with big hats and marched in a straight line.'

I loved it coming from a Brit.

We'd all be the same religion. Just a question to ponder.

(I'm not at all for that by the way, I'm happy with my own religion)

Yesterday I found myself in a rage against Scientology. Then I started to think about where I should direct my thoughts. It's easy to say "the church" itself, but as the church is mostly made up of individuals who have been brainwashed, then what?

So I assume the absolute leaders of this cult can without doubt bear the brunt of my venom. But what about the individual centres in each city? Do the higher level people realise what they're doing? Are they too brainwashed to have real responsibility? I do wonder if, when first being indoctrinated, the majority of people have a moment when they willingly abandon their instinct or common sense. Perhaps that split second of mental capitulation is the answer.....

What do you guys think? When does the victim become the bad guy?

I understand the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving people yet we never hear from these "peaceful" mosques decrying violence. The news is filled with their radical counterparts calling for world domination by any means necessary. This morning's Yahoo news item says many in this Pakistani mosque only want martyrdom.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070704/ap_on_re_as/pakistan_radical_mosque;_ylt=AtN70JFPKtEVOZJkMrgsaY0UewgF

Will the peace-loving Muslims roll over and submit to the radical ideologies when they're knocking at their doorstep?

Is there, in fact, a discord of said ideologies? If so, should the majority not make an effort to subdue this radical element?
Thanks.

Please, when answering this question, don't give knee-jerk answers. Think about the sovereignty of God and his foreordination -vs- the paganistic thinking concerning "fate" and chance. Think about the implications of the word "luck". If you don't know of any implications of this word, and aren't willing to do a little research before answering, then please refrain from answering.

Think about what is really a sin, and what is really a personal and/or social preference.

I will leave this board open for as long as I am able without losing my right to choose the best answer, so please do think about the things above.

Would you feel safer at night if non-believers were prosecuted, heathens and practitioners of medicine were burnt and churches had control of the law again?

Just curious as some of the people's question seem to give off this desire for the whole "fear of God" lifestyle...

An honest to goodness question: why does so much of what the Holy Bible (I'm kinda limited at the moment to the KJV), in its seeming understanding of Earth and its many glories, sounds so doggoned much like the voice of a man of the First Century AD? Gosh, whilst we're scarcely today where we'll be, say, in only a hundred years, or even in 50, our understanding of our little blue rock and our solar system and even our galaxy is leagues more advanced than they were a half-century ago, much less 2000 troubled years ago. My 10-year-old grandson knows much more about Earth than the pope in Rome did in AD 1956. I'm asking you 'cause I have learned to never expect an intelligent answer from der Fundy volk.

Those who have avidly read the New Testament know exactly what i am saying here. I won't give quotes from the Bible but everything I say here is in there...read it for yourself.
We are in what the Bible describes as the 'End Times'....with earthquakes in divers places....floods...wars and rumours of wars...pestilence ..........children disrespecting parents...in ways worse than they have ever been. I noticed that many people who trash Christianity do it in childish and uneducated ways through total lack of understanding....perhaps before answering such questions it would be better if you armed yourself with real knowledge of what the Bible actually says...not what you think it says or what you believe without knowing.
Jesus is coming back and the signs are that He will be returning soon. No-one knows when as he says himself...."I will come like a thief in the night".....when people are least expecting it and He will...are you ready?
Best wishes, Mike.
