friend if you are a Christian, & as you grow in the Lord, you will get use to these attacks, In my 37 yrs. as a Christian, I have faced every demonic person that you can think of, But none of them can sway me away from serving God & living in his truth. Why should we stoop as low as many of these people that wants to insult us Christians, We don't have to stoop that low, Yes there is times we have to be firm in our answers. But God will take care of those who mocks God, Their Judgement day is coming. And Guess what we shall be the ones that shall Judge them alone with Christ. 1st Cor. 6:1-3

Christians are far from being persecuted. they do the persecuting a lot though. Just try being a Wiccan in the bible belt.
I observe comments and actions by Christians that causes people to attack There3 are exceptions. I do know some Christians who show love and not hate. Think about it if you try to be superior to others and claim to be an expert in matters and are rude, mean spirited and hateful, isn't that inviting attacks?
If however you are loving and kind, what do you think will happen. After all isn't rude behavior in the Christian view fitting for the unbeliever? Why do some want to be like the unbeliever?
Okay saying all that I will now say, I have been trying to be nice and positive, but some Christians sure make it hard not to be rude. I posted some comments about this in my blog. Anyway I am looking for those who show Christlike behavior so I can responding in kindness without effort.

this is the RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY Section of yahoo answers.
So to correct one fellow answerer, this is not just a Christian section.
Secondly, there is no Atheist Sektion, so its logical Atheists come here to discuss Religion.
Its a discussion about wheter god does or does not exists.
I agree, that there is no reason to get abusive or insulting eachother while discussing.
People which does not have any better arguments usually start to be insulting.
Its mostly going the way somehting like "shut up, I am righ and you are wrong".
Let me tell you, that I am an Atheist and I was insulted as well many times, becuase for my believes. Not to believe is as well a form of believing.
I would also like to see a clean discussion on Religion without abuse and insult.

I say no.
This is a public forum. You state what you have to say and then it is the purview of the other participants to either ignore the content or respond to it.
The results of such interaction rests solely on the strength of what and how something is said.
Some of the things here are inappropriate for children. However, the test for being a child is subjective and due to the anonymity of the web keeping children away from the inappropriate content is not feasible with the identification mechanisms in place.
I am here. I am a Christian. I do not take insults nor blasphemy lying down. Anyone who wants to 'toe to toe' with me in a public forum better be more prepared than a lot of the drivel being spouted off in this place because I did not come here for nor will I tolerate abuse.
The open nature of a public forum makes everybody accountable for their own postings.
In the words of Noah, "Here am I." I stand against the wall and take on the world in the name of the one true God. If they want me, they have me. They just better hope they're half as prepared to state their case as I am to state mine.
God plus anyone is a majority.

You know I just find it so hard to believe that this question was asked. I mean it is usually the Christians who are out there abusing anybody with different views or belief's to their own. They preach about tolerance but don't have much tolerance for other religions, belief systems or opinions.
I mean as a Pagan I've been abused on boards before by so called Christian's. My belief's are different so I should be abused and ridiculed for it.
The Christians have a problem with so many different people, they abuse the Atheists, Pagans, Wiccan's, Gays....have I forgot anybody. Yet they like to forget that when they start whinging about being picked on, persecuted or abused.
I mean how many centuries have Pagan's been persecuted by Christians, burned at the stake for being herbalist's and midwives....I mean how evil is that....better go put on a hat before you spot my horns lol
If the Christian's can't take constructive questioning or they feel there having to deal with mean thing being said about their religion, then they shouldn't dish it out.
Practice what you preach

People get aggressive when they're insecure about something. The ones who think that atheism is "harmful" are the ones who are afraid to examine their own beliefs - deep down they think that atheists might be right. That's why they complain about atheism's alleged lack of morality (which has nothing to do with whether there is a God or not) instead of claiming that it isn't logical - that's why their afraid of atheism. Granted, some are just a little psycho about religion. This isn't a blanket statement about Christians. Many have no problem with atheists, usually the one's who aren't afraid to examine their beliefs.

Wow...this would be the first place in the WORLD that hurts a Christians feeling. Unsatisfied that people disagree with you? Not liking the fact that some people are bitter and cynical after years of being shoved around by nasty far-right Christians?
Too bad.
76.5% of America is Christian. 76.5%. 159,030,000 people. Atheists? Not even at 1,000,000 yet.
If you, the majority, is so miserable that us, the minority, exist...I suggest going elsewhere. Atheists like to answer questions, and they like to ask questions that make religious people think about their faith. Now, if you can honestly say that us Atheists, with our .4% of the population, are overwhelming you Christians, with your 76.5% of the population...then I would have to say that you guys are pretty wimpy. Suck it up.
Yes, I know I was harsh....but you guys need to chill out. You own America...isn't that enough? Or must you own the internet as well, so that Atheists don't get a place anywhere to voice their opinions?

This is not persecution, but an exchange of ideas. I welcome the opportunity to share the truths of Christianity to those who have not heard it. I believe I have something to say that may turn the tide. I am glad for forums like these.
Unfortunately, plenty of people are using the forums to ask silly questions. Others ask questions seriously provocative of Christianity, but I believe telling the truth in love is the best way for God to work through me and reach out to these angry, hurting people.

I think that the problem is that christians come to different parts of Yahoo answers and go around attacking other people, hurting their feelings, then say they're only doing what God wants them to do, and that's to preach. And then when people get angry, and hurt them back, they say they are being persecuted for being christian.
They're not being persecuted for being christian, but for being mean and hurtful. We know it hurts, you know it hurts, isn't it time for it to stop?

Whoa there tiger. You want some cheese with that whine?
Any Christian who comes to Yahoo Answers has the internet. Therefore, any Christian who comes to Yahoo Answers can find a Christian website to go to if they want everyone to agree with them. Yahoo Answers is for discussion.
I see just as many insults coming from Christians as I do everyone else. The difference is you Christians hide your insults in Bible verses and in the "truths" you have been taught. Any time a non-Christian defends themselves, you guys get your panties in a wad.
Take your persecution complex and go to a Christian only website. If you don't want to do that then stop the whining and be part of the solution. Every single faith on here is insulted by someone. Get over it already.
Christians are not the only people here - they just think they are. I, for one, am getting really tired of it all.
