Those that have this hope and use words for this purpose are still fighting an internal battle for control. It is only themselves they are trying to convince, if however they do succeed in swaying others to their ideals it gives them a sense of security (which apparently reduces fear) that if they are wrong they will not ultimately be alone.

When speaking in person to someone, as I shall try to do here... there is no attack. There is a simple discussion about what my beliefs say about yours, good natured reciprocation. It is not my job to make anyone change their beliefs, I simply say what I am lead to say... the Spirit handles the rest. I may never see the fruit of my words... I may merely be planting a seed, that years from now, someone else will come along and tend, help to flourish... as long as I do not hold back for fear of embarrassment or rejection, I am doing my part.

My guess is that if you are *trying* to convince others that their beliefs are incorrect, you are hoping to accomplish one of these things:
1) Convincing them that their beliefs are incorrect.
2) Convincing them that your beliefs are correct.
3) Saving them from eternal damnation, death, rebirth as a lower life form, or some other post-humus fate.

The bible talks about false religion. Satan has been creating falsehoods since the first lie to Eve.
He wants man to be destroyed.
Those of us who follow Christ and his teachings are in the education business. We show you from your bible where the errors are, between what you believe, and what the bible (your own bible) actually says. We read and quote from our own where we can, because we're carrying it. But most of us have used your version as well and can readily work with whatever you hand us......The point being, for you to understand the truth.
Interested? I hope so. Call a local Kingdom Hall for a free, in depth bible study. Ask questions, we'll be happy to help out.

If, indeed, their beliefs are incorrect, I hope to get them to examine the Bible to ascertain these things and turn to what is correct and truthful so that they might gain the promise held out to man in the Bible.

We should not try and convince others of anything.
Only by reaching a certain level of consciousness, can people truly choose and opiniate. Most people just mimetize others or correspond to the moulding they were subjected to throughout life.
Before questioning others, question yourself, your every step and action, see what you respond to, when thinking and acting.

I plant seeds of rational thinking - some sprout, others wither and die.
Just call me the Johnny Appleseed of Atheism.

Well, according to the bible, after the word is preached, the person becomes damned if they refuse it or saved if they accept it...the message that Christ died in the place of man, to redeem the person back to God.
So, it accomplishes God's plan. It is a command in the bible to preach it to everyone.
