I hate god and disbelieve in him, using doublethink. My hating-the-nonexistant-god comes from a screwed up relationship I had, and mental breakdowns I had when I felt god was close to me, and then just abandoned me and whatnot. After getting over it I realised I'd just hit breakpoint from insecurity and lonelyness. I kinda hate the godding stuff because instead of supporting me through human kindness, my youth group pushed the concept of "finding jesus" onto me when I was basically a mental car crash, to try and indoctrinate me. Follow that up with one screwed up relationship with a christian online, and being so powerfully in love it felt like "finding god" again, once again, that reduced me to an insecure wreck. It's because of that that when people try and tell me how wonderful god is to them I mentally crash and tense up. It makes me psycho and insecure, and I really can't deal with the whole "god" idea. It totally f*cks with my independence.
Overall, It's not something that would happen to people often I think, just people who have been in the church and come out feeling hurt because they're rational minds won over the BS.

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT IF YOU HATE GOD YOU HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM! Sorry for capital response. If anyone should, god forbid, I think I should. Blame him for all my problems? Yea right I have free will! Blame god for everything I have been through. Do not think so! Look at Job in the bible, he had it all and NEVER blamed god. Those that do need to get with it. Ive been operated on, ripped off by so called friends. So concentrate! Lets just all choose a scapegoat for all our problems! Think about it, didn't we create most of them, when it doesn't turn out right just blame god.! That's very easy is it not. Sorry for being, sounding pissed off. I like your question let us all search within for a answer. I have allot more but I will keep it short so people will read it! Michael

Atheists do not hate God, they try to save Christians from their so called stupidity which hinders technology and social advancement. Most atheists that I have talked to believe God is a fable, like the Easter bunny and Santa, at least this is the way I understand it. I am a Christian and I enjoy my stupidity, because I believe in living with a certain standard of morals, not in my own selfish lusts. I believe what bothers atheists most is that they don't like hearing that they are living immorally by Gods standards, so they are continually trying to shut Christians down. There are many different religions, but there is only one truth, the problem is that throughout history religion has been used to commit evil acts, it was for told in the bible, God said many will do all sorts of things in my name. The same people who commit acts like these are the same type of people who crucified Christ. I would like to point out that God gave us all freewill and that you are free to believe whatever you choose to believe, but if you don't want to hear what Christians have to say don't ask. I felt it was necessary to point out that all religions are not the same and it is not fair to classify every religion or every Christian into one category. That is like saying that because one man committed the act of rape all men will do it. It is not fair and it is not logical. : )

Well, consider the source. OK... so christians think that it is possible to hate something that you don't even believe exists. This surprises you? These are the same people who believe that a cosmic Jewish zombie, who is his own father, can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced to eat from a magical tree by an infinitely sadistic being disguised, as a talking snake with legs...
I think that you need to cut them a little slack... and give them a little sympathy.

It would seem that one would have to "know God" to either Love or Hate Him! An atheist can't possibly hate something that he doesn't even believe exists. The one who believes in God could hate him because Love isn't possible without hate and vice-versa. Eat not of the tree of good and evil (duality of mind). Opposites are complimentary. The God of human concept has to be the opposite of anti-God.

I hate the god hypothesis in the sense that I hate the flat earth hypothesis or the creationists' hypothesis. They are all shown to be false by the empirical data.
But I no more "hate God" than I hate Zeus or the IPU. It's just a fraudulent, morally bankrupt concept that should be stamped out of our culture and politics.

When I was young I use to hate God. That was because I was molested by church people. I thought that they represented who God is. Then I met God and my ideas have changed. He is funny, loving, kind and very considerate especially of my feelings. He is not harsh like alot of people make him out to be. He always has His arms open and trying to make my life enjoyable. He blesses me with His creation and the people around me. Even though life can be a struggle at times with different situations, I know He is there working it out and I believe He is always for me.

Me!
God doesn't exist. However, most of the evils, bloodshed, wars, slaughter have been in the name of God (or various gods). For these people only it is necessary to talk to them on a level they may understand.
So yes, I hate all of your gods.
(I suppose you'll delete this message, most believers who don't like an answer do so).

I actually think that atheists hate God..What I mean by the term "God" is the author of the Bible,Koran, and other religious books. But in reality, they don't think a god or gods exist,so to conclude, they don't hate something imaginary because they don't believe in it..

Not us Atheists.
There are probably believers who hate the god they believe in because they feel betrayed or wronged by something they see as an act (or an inaction) of their god.
Other than that, people generally hate believers in other gods, not other gods, because they don't believe in other gods. Christians might hate Muslims but they don't believe in Allah enough to hate him. Atheists don't believe in any gods and, so, don't hate them (or aliens, or fairies, of Big Foot).
