It is my understanding that J.W.'s believe only a certain amount of people get into heaven. It is also my understanding that the amount of people they believe get into heaven is far less than the current amount of J.W.s. Can you please tell me how that part of the religion makes sense?

About 17 million associate themselves with Jehovah's Witnesses, while there are nearly 7 million active ministers.

The vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him

The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Ur understanding is absolutely correct that only certain amount of people will get into heaven. The exact number of them is found at Rev. 14:1, i.e. only 144,000 are chosen to be with Jesus in heaven and ruled the earth.

And u are right, that the chosen are less than the amount of Jehovah's Witnesses who's hope are here on earth. Jehovah's Witnesses now are millions while the chosen who will go to heaven are only thousands. The exact amount is based from the bible and not from anyone else.

J.W.s beleive only certain followers go to heaven, and these are the saints that will guide the rest of the followers. People who have not been accepted into heaven, remain here on earth, but under a new ruler, God. : )

I am a JW. Hi my name is Sable. I can answer this for you hun. Please pull out your Bible. Revelations 7:4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:
Psalms 115:16 As regards the heavens, to Jehovah the heavens belong,
But the earth he has given to the sons of men.
Revelation 14:3) And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth.
Revelation 14:1 And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.
Ok so we believe that 144,000 people are going to heaven, and that all the other good people will inheirt the earth and live forever upon it.John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. John 17:3 3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.
Psalms 37:11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
So the Bible says we will inherit the earth, and a few will be bought from the earth 144,000 to be judges along with Chris Jesus. As for us we will live forever on a paradise earth

Simple question for you in Lew of an answer.
1 planet with millions (uncountable)of resurrected people. Those going to and "from" Heaven will be Kings and priests to those on earth.(revelation)
God's government on earth. You remember the Lord's prayer don't you? This government is real, replacing those working today.
God didn't make the earth in such a way as to be destroyed.
He has Angels to do the heavenly work. And He created man to live on earth forever.
This may all seem strange to you, because it isn't what is taught in Church's.
For more about the differences in what you know and what is accurate, let us explain it to you with a bible study. Over time the falsehoods taught by most Church's, will become obvious to you.
Call a local Kingdom Hall, and ask for a bible study. No cost, no obligation. Just because you study with us doesn't obligate you to join us.But we do hope you will.

I don't think that this is a Jw questions its states in the holy bible that only 144,000 will enter heaven all others will have Paradise here on earth( the meek ones will inherit the earth). 144,000 are the anointed ones will go to heaven myself I wish to live here on the a new earth where I can grow and learn more about My God Jehovah and his Son.

Have you ever wondered why people get to go to heaven? Revelation 20:5, 6 helps us out:

"And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years . . . This is the first resurrection. Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years."

Now kings rule over others, yes? And priests serve on behalf of others, yes? Over whom shall these kings rule? And on behalf of whom shall the priests serve? Angels? Angels have no need of kings or priestly service.

Moreover, did you notice the phrase "first resurrection"? Yes. There is another resurrection. The majority of persons resurrected will be resurrected to earth.

Finally, Jesus himself says that those who attain to heavenly life make up a "little flock." “Have no fear, little flock, because your Father has approved of giving you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.

The Scriptures clearly show that only some humans, such as the apostles, will reign with Christ in heaven. The Bible says that they number 144,000. (Luke 12:32; Revelation 14:3, 4).

Ask yourself: if Adam and Eve had not sinned, where would they be? On earth. Earth is man's home. Always will be. Only a comparatively small number of people attain to heavenly life.

You can read the above in any Bible you wish. And no, we do not have our "own special Bible." We use any Bible you like. I myself use daily over a dozen different translations.

For instance: the poster directly above me says we changed "Lord" every time it appeared in the Bible to Jehovah. God's name appeared originally almost 7,000 times and was changed by translators to read "Lord" in all caps. Most Bible translators took God's name OUT of the Bible. Jehovah's Witnesses put it back IN. So did a few other Bible translators. Basic research will bear this out for you. So as you read all these responses, make sure you keep in mind that some of them will be steeped in ignorance and rumor. Never ceases to amaze me.

ok... my grandmother is a witness, and i am a baptist... and just by what i have learned from her, and the ppl who show up at my dorr... they believe that only 144,00 go to heaven... she says those are only the best of the best, she says you can just tell who one of the ppl is... so, anywho... i asked her the same thing "what about the rest of you?" she said they inherit the earth, be cause it will be restored and the i guess what thhey call "mediocre" ppl will reside there the way GOD intended it to be in the beginning... without sin... and they dont believe in hell... the ybelieve that in the BIBLE, when it referes to "hell" it is refering to "the grave". they think that the bad ppl just die and stay in the ground, and have no consequence for their sin... well, they think the consequence is not getting to experience everlasting life.....i wouldnt get mixed up in that religion because they have a special "bible" that has been edited by a man... they call the LORD only one name... JEHOVAH. the LORD himself said that he would be of many names, not just one... so the j.w's changed every word that it refered to the LORD by any other name than JEHOVAH. so, the fact that they use a different "bible" really sent off red flags for me.

read in revelation about the 144,000 that will be in heaven with Jesus Christ. it also talks about the meek that shall live forever on a Paradise earth that Adam and Eve lost. Jehovah did not change his mind. revelation 7 verses 4-9, also ps 37 verse 11. if Jehovah God wants us to live in heaven, why did he put us here on earth, to grow old, get sick and die just to go back to heaven. he could of left us there. remember Jesus resurrected Lazarus and if he was in heaven, why would Jesus bring him back to earth and Lazarus never said he was in heaven

It doesn't make sense. Find out more about the Jehovah's Witness cult. Apparently they got their idea of the Apocalypse year from the founder making measurements on the GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZEH and claiming that Armageddon would come in 1914! It came and went. People were living out of their cars, not daring to buy a home, ready at any notice to move to higher ground to avoid floods and whatnot. It's sooo stupid and yet the origins of this cult are clearly documented.
