I think most of us can say we were taken totally by suprise and had no idea that something like 9/11 could happen to us here in the USA.
As horriifc event that was the return of Jesus will be a thousand times more suprising to people who don't expect him to return

So my question is: Do you find yourself wondering how shocked you will be when Jesus returns, just like 9/11 was a total shock

I will be suprised not shocked and ready
How about you?

Janet Reno proved that she knows how to end a siege at a religious establishment when the compound at Waco was burned. If Musharef needs help solving the problem at the Red Mosque, should Clinton offer to send Janet Reno ?

The human eye is so complex that Darwin himself, even with his limited knowledge of chemistry, saw the human eye as an enormous problem for his theory.
Evolutionist F. Hitching was still pondering this in a 1982 book entitled The Neck of the Giraffe, "Is it really plausible that thousands upon thousands of lucky chance mutations happened coincidentally so that the lens and the retina, which cannot work without each other, evolved in synchrony? What survival value can there be in an eye that doesn't see?"

Does anyone feel that survival of intermediate species poses any problem for the evolutionary model?

Thanks in andvance for your answers.

Please, save the "I don't believe in God, how can you?" etc. "answers" I don't want to get into that debate. This question is for scholars or educated Christians ONLY, please, don't waste your time yammering about how there is no God or how Allah did whatever etc., I seriously want to know from a biblical perspective why in the world, God would create people! It doesn't make sense to me. Thank you in advance for your help.

There are many churches in the United States, but there is more and more difficulty reaching the community. I have given some thought as to how this could be possible and the conclusion I have reached is that we must in some way be failing to show Christ in us. How can we change, or what can we do differently to allow others to see more of Christ and less of our less perfect selves?

Suggestions as to how as individuals and as church bodies for displaying a Christlike self to our neighborhoods.

*Note: I am not necessarily talking about witnessing, Christ went from one area to another healing and talking. People were drawn to Him, so how do we show Him to them.

What do you think? How do most Top Contributors for Religion & Spirituality gain their status? Is it by means of thoughtful and knowledgeable responses? Or is it something else?

Please bear in mind I am not asking about myself. I don't care if I get the designation or not.

DAVID SMITH WILL BE PRESIDENT AND KING: April 1844. Joseph Smith prophesies that his unborn child will be called David, and will be "president and king of Israel." (cited in D. Michael Quinn, The Mormon Hierarchy, Salt Lake City, 1994 p 644)

FULFILLED?: The child was called David. However, he was never "president and king of Israel." He died in 1904, at the age of 60, having spent the last 27 years of his life in an insane asylum. He was a member of the Reorganized Church. His highest nominal position in that church was counsellor to the president, but he never actually performed any duties as such, because of his mental condition.

By the way, when Christ returns for His 1000 year reign before the Great White Throne of Judgement, HE will reign forever- not any of the Smiths.

What does that mean to you?
We are told in Genesis that God created the sun and the moon "for SIGNS and for seasons" (Gen 1:14). "And I shall show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath..." (Acts 2:19).

The Bible declares that this will be particularly true of the Last Days. Jesus Himself warned of this 'End-time' period: "And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and GREAT SIGNS shall there be from heaven... And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars" (Mt 21:11,25). The Bible even talks of the moon being "turned to blood" as a sign that we are nearing the very end of the age. (Joel 2:31, Rev 6:12).

Significantly, there has already been ONE BLOOD-RED MOON AND ONE 'SACK-CLOTH' MOON (caused by lunar eclipses) over Jerusalem in 1996 and 1997, falling precisely on major feast-days of the Jewish calendar

Why can't it mean Mayan Calendar, UFO's Solar Martian Dust Storms.

(just for a second, let's ignore the idiocy of thinking we came from monkeys)

why is it so hard to imagine that some evolved into man, and others didn't?

if ALL animals of a species evolved into the exact same thing, there would be no variety. there would be only one breed of dog, only one kind of bird, etc. etc.

If you dont like my question don't anwser it,,,,It is a very logical question and I deserve to get anwsers I see how people can say jesus is god

psalms 83;18 he whos name is jehovah he alone is the most high over all

what do you just do you just ignore scriptures that go against jesus being god it says right there ''JEHOVAH''' HE ALONE is most high over all

and if your catholic this verce is ommited from your bible

the christian's of today make it eazy not to beleive when you say Jesus is god and celebrate pagan holidays why do you reinact pagan ritual's and call your self christian

Okay..an empathy challenge for anyone who will not bend on their beliefs whether you are religious/spiritual or not. The idea here is to see from another person's shoes. I figure I can learn something from you and you from another's viewpoint. We all win. I will pick one email written with passion on why you'd want to take the challenge. Whoever I pick will agree to answer all their questions for one day (to be determined later) from a viewpoint they do not agree with. That's the only rule. You can start your answers for that day by saying you are however you categorize yourself, however Christians think this way, or Atheists think that way.

Anyone up to the challenge? Or, are we a bunch of closed minded people here? Who dares to look at the other side?

When I first heard about the many stats suggesting such a large percentage think this, I figured the polls must be out of whack. But having asked a prior question about this and seeing just how many people are actually convinced of this, I have to wonder what it is that makes so many Christians think this.

I have spoken to many Atheists, I have spent time as one. I was wondering on this divide in views.

Do you see religion as a, once necassary political tool used to control the masses and moderate the developement of society, that has ceased to bear necessity as time has passed therefore now obselite.

Or a complete fantasy and falicy that has never benefited humanity in any way?

Or just freely express you individual view.
