Seriously I try to remain respectful and help when possible. There are times I answer a smart aleck question with the same type of response but not often.

I assure you--receiving a Top Contributorship award is not based on asking a lot of questions. I've only asked five questions since I've been on board and only one of them had to do with Religion and Spirituality. The remaining four are in four different categories.
Probably the justification is based on a percentile of best answers awarded in certain categories and few violations reported.

A "Top Contributor" is someone who ASKS and ANSWERS frequently...not necessarily the one with the most chosen answers. Hopefully, they have something to say of interest to the forum they've chosen to spend most of their time in...:)

Well the imacatholic2 guy answered 2 of my questions by copy and pasting the same answer in similar questions...I think they have a database of decent answers somewhere in the same manners some Christians copy and paste scripture from the Bible. Even if it is an excellent answer it is by no means thoughtful or knowledgeable. It is ingenuine and un-imaginative...

It seems to be a completely random process. I get it sometimes, but it goes on and off with me. I think it's a combination of points you receive, percentage of best answers, amount of answers you give, and amount of questions you ask within a certain time frame.

All i know is that 3 nights ago I logged in and I found that cool orange badge under my avatar and I couldn't believe it, I didn't know how I did it. It was very cool. Then someone told me that I had like 10% best answers and that is how I got it :)

I really don't know. It just showed up one day as a banner under my avitar. I've heard it's how many best answers. But couldn't it be just from how many questions you've answered in one category? I really don't know.
