Okay..an empathy challenge for anyone who will not bend on their beliefs whether you are religious/spiritual or not. The idea here is to see from another person's shoes. I figure I can learn something from you and you from another's viewpoint. We all win. I will pick one email written with passion on why you'd want to take the challenge. Whoever I pick will agree to answer all their questions for one day (to be determined later) from a viewpoint they do not agree with. That's the only rule. You can start your answers for that day by saying you are however you categorize yourself, however Christians think this way, or Atheists think that way.

Anyone up to the challenge? Or, are we a bunch of closed minded people here? Who dares to look at the other side?

Peace, Love, and Blessings
Greenwood

You would not be 'lieing' and this is not a game. It's an exercise in understanding another human being...which in the end is love.

You would not have to change your beliefs, either. Just an exercise in empathy.

Email me with why you'd want to participate. And I'll select the "best" email to do the challenge.

I was raised and baptized Lutheran, left Christianity in my teens, and have looked into Wicca, Satanism, Buddhism, and Taoism in addition to actually reading the bible.

There are many reasons why I am not affiliated to any belief system, including atheism. They ALL seem really nice on the surface, but at some point they all ask you to believe in something fantastic and illogical in order to "fit in" to their sect.

I refuse to believe in something that doesn't make any sense just because everyone else says it's true. On second thought, I don't want to be a part of your thing anyway. It would just waste my time and piss us all off.

That sounds interesting. Are you saying we'd be required to defend a belief that we don't actually believe? I think I could do that.

I've always thought that if I could ever getting a teaching position in philosophy and teach a class on ethics, I'd take a pole in the class on who believes abortion is morally justified and who thinks it's wrong. Then, for extra credit, I'd invite the students to debate, only they would have to defend the opposite view that they held. I've always thought that would be interesting, and educational as well.

wouldnt that make christians lie tho? or really anyone who says what they dont believe. sorry christians, but wouldnt it?

I have believed in christianity and buddhism (and the like) so I could do it with those, but I couldnt with the others, I am bias towards them, sorry

would be a great way to learn about other religion for those who are closed minded, so its a great question.

Oh, I like it. I'm in. So if I have this straight, you will e-mail me with a question and I have to answer like a person who believes in god Because I'm an atheist? I am a very passionate person, so sure.

Reminds me of the debate team. There were many times when I had to argue a side I did not agree with. It's rather easy to do, but it never changed my mind.

As a Christian, I do not think that I will learn anything useful from a religion, such as Islam, that denies that Christ was the Son of God. Or that I would learn anything useful from an atheist, which has NO faith in anything besides that which they can see and touch. Thanks for asking, though.

I was brought up Catholic and practiced for many years and have a large family that still practices so I know what the average Catholic thinks and believes (which is not always necessarily what the Church preaches.

I will not be moved in my Faith or Beliefs... so it would be an empty excercise for me. It would be against the Truth in my heart to do... but does sound like it would be an entertaining game for some.

I play games... but just not with God - anymore.

Believe it or not, I have experiences that would make most of you athiests look like choir boys.

And just for humility's sake so I can't ever be holier than thou Ill list a couple:

-Federal Prison for over a year

-Leg broken in strip club

I was never an athiest, just plain didn't wanna think about it.

Now I do.

Have fun with your game, and learn something new...

God Bless you.
