Please, save the "I don't believe in God, how can you?" etc. "answers" I don't want to get into that debate. This question is for scholars or educated Christians ONLY, please, don't waste your time yammering about how there is no God or how Allah did whatever etc., I seriously want to know from a biblical perspective why in the world, God would create people! It doesn't make sense to me. Thank you in advance for your help.

Our pastor just covered this in church not too long ago. He said God didn't create us because he was lonely - He's not. He created us out of love. Kind of like a married couple who decide to have a baby.

You said "scholars or educated Christians." Anyone can be a scholar, so here you go:

I've often heard it said that God wanted another being to love.

However, you really should clarify what kind of biblical perspective you're looking for. There are a whole host of perspectives about the Bible among both scholars and educated Christians - ranging from a strictly literal interpretation to a more contextual interpretation.

That is the age old question. Why did God need man? Did he not have enough angels to worship him? What need did man fulfill for God? Perhaps He was lonely. I dont know the answer. Here is my answere to a similar question I answered a couple of months ago. The question was -What truth do you seek with God? My answer: What need or desire did the creation of humans fulfill? You already had angels to worship you why was that not enough? and once you created Man, you gave Man free will. and then you gazed down upon your creation that you had to have, and watched Man suffer, often in your name, watched Man fight war after bloody war defending you. watched the children suffer. You take innocent
children from loving parents and dont offer them a reason they can understand. You speak of punishment, hell, and eternal suffering for those who dont seek you out and believe in your son Jesus. We try to believe yet Heavenly Father we still suffer in anguish and suffer greatly even as we turn to you for help. So I guess thats the truth I am looking for--why
not a list of scriptures or promises God has made, just a simple understandable why

We may never know the answer to your question-maybe when we die and stand before our Maker.

We were created to glorify God and to have fellowship with Him. That is what we should do with our lives. God used to come down and walk with man in the Garden, but when sin was found in man, all that changed and God had to make a way for the forgiveness of men. That is why He sent Jesus to die for us. He said "Without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sins". I don't know why He said this, but He did and that is good enough for me. Salvation is free to all who will accept Jesus as their Savior.

I think that god created people because he wanted to give us a chance to live, create, build and help eachother grow. I think he gave us intelegence to see if we could be trusted. Then his creations got out of control. We stated puluting the earth, slowly sucking the gas and oil out of the ground. But we were so advanced that there was no stopping us.

To explain his own existance?
Isn't it possible that God started life in evolution to see if the end result would produce God again?

PS: to the "glorify him" people. I really don't think that was the case. As I have said before, if God wanted mindless adoration, he would have gotten himself a litter of puppies

1 to glorify him.
2. to have the chance to glorify him, (in which we failed at the garden of Eden).
3. He is a Creator, it is in his natural attributes to create, He has to, The trinity is balanced. God creates, Jesus saves, The holy spirit convicts, When one does not do his job, the others fall apart. That is why they are perfectly together.

We were created by God for God. He wanted man to love and worship Him not because He is egotistical, but so that He could shower us with the endless depth and width of love that He embodies. He didn't create love. God IS love.

God create people to glorify him. Though most people in our world don't glorify him, he created humans in his own image to glorify God.
