He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:25-27

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.Joshua 24:15

People profess a belief or faith in science. Doesn't that make science a religion?

Perhaps you really don't KNOW there is a god, or that one religion has the right interpretation.

But you think it is a good idea for people to believe in God and/or follow some religion.

Does this describe you?

Trinitarian Christians believe that Jesus is perfect God and perfect man. Jesus is the 2nd Person of God the Trinity and not a separate being from God or a separate god.,according to Trinitarian Christians. There is a only One God Who is Eternal and never had to work His way up to godhood in Historic Christianity.
What do Mormons mean by Eternal Progression?

he may have said "my father" referring to god but most christians call god "father" and that does not make them Messiah or THE divine son of god...so did jesus know who he really was? (and now it is time to quote)...
Is there anywhere in the bible where jesus says: "i am the divine son of god"???

What is hell and the devil?
If I sin, will I really be damned to hell for all eternity if I didn't know any better? What if I was doing what I thought was right. Doesn't that make my heart just in the eyes of God regardless of the Bible?
God judges the heart and intentions, yes?

You can't understand Catholicism if you do not study the Catechism which is a wonderful source of Bible understanding.
Even if you want to dispute Catholicism you need to have, read and study the Catechism of the Catholic Church

I'm just curious, because we're all familiar with the image we get (fair or not) of how Muslim women are treated. So my question to you Christian women is: Do you feel valued by Christianity?

Yes, atheists and pagans, this is an open forum, so you are free to post answers...but the opinions I'm most interested in are from the Christian women.

I really love this song that says:

"what religion or reason could drive a man to forsake his lover"

But I don't know what the word forsake means (I'm ESOL) and I don't have a dictionary here.

By the way, the song is Little Respect by Wheatus... you should download it!!!! ^_^

When someone says "I need you," does that mean "I love you"?

If sex, or need, is love, then is it true that the more need you have, the more love there is ?

Surely that implies a growing dependency, a loss of freedom!

And if love is supposed to come from people, yet it is something we all need and lack, then how can anyone provide it to another ?

Yesterday this Yahoo Answers user asked this question. and these are her details:

"A few years ago i traveled to Scotland and met bishop Richard Holloway who told me that if religions don't change to suit changing times that religion is dead."

Now I want to ask you if you agree or not? Many people think that Islam is a backward religion and it has not changed its 14th century thinking....

Yet we believe in a religion because we think those are the laws and rules God sent to us and we have to obey them. It does not matter which religion your from its the same thinking all over except Atheist of course.
Now God has not changed those rules and laws since there has not been a prophet for Jews after David (pbuh), no Prophet or father for Christians after Jesus (pbuh) and no prophet for Muslims after Mohamed (pbuh)....
So If God has not changed those rules who gives us the right to change them?

For example ( no offense) it says in bible not to eat pig because they are dirty!

If religious leaders of today's major religions have been misleading us and not disclosing their dependence on other ancient spiritual wisdom to create their religions systoms, what shall we do?

What if our Christian doctrines and concepts have been stolen and copied from the Egyptians; what shall we do? Is that not deceptive?

children was good, drugs and drunkenness was good and orgies and adultery was good, would atheists then believe in God?

Is it the actual presence of God that you can't fathom and His love and powers or have you choosen not to believe because you don't agree with His rules? Even people that were raised as Christians and went to church and Sunday school and all that - as you grew up, what actually was it that made you just stop believing in His actual existence? Or at least the existence of some type of energy or power or force that created the universe? Can you really believe instead that the universe happened out of chance? Plus, if there is a God or some deity out there, why wouldn't He give us life rules and talk to the first people? It does seems like a 'fairytale' but thinking deeply, a Creator, a Designer, a God would let Himself to be known to His first creations and set up some guidelines if there is eternal life. Don't you think? Science opens our minds but so does God.
