If the Bible said that homosexuality was good, sex with animals was good, adults having sex with?

children was good, drugs and drunkenness was good and orgies and adultery was good, would atheists then believe in God?

Is it the actual presence of God that you can't fathom and His love and powers or have you choosen not to believe because you don't agree with His rules? Even people that were raised as Christians and went to church and Sunday school and all that - as you grew up, what actually was it that made you just stop believing in His actual existence? Or at least the existence of some type of energy or power or force that created the universe? Can you really believe instead that the universe happened out of chance? Plus, if there is a God or some deity out there, why wouldn't He give us life rules and talk to the first people? It does seems like a 'fairytale' but thinking deeply, a Creator, a Designer, a God would let Himself to be known to His first creations and set up some guidelines if there is eternal life. Don't you think? Science opens our minds but so does God.

I think it's strange that you are only focusing on my first question. What about the last long paragraph about why non-believers choose not to believe? Is it because of the notion of there not being the proof that you want or because you don't agree with God's word? Forget about my first few sentences and focus on my main point.

No; it's still a ridiculous claim with no evidence to back it up.

Why don't you believe in thousands of other gods? Is it only coincidence that the only one you think is real is the one your parents told you was real?
Also, your god is far less loving than the average god - he murders babies, drowns kittens, condones slavery, and tortures people whose opinions he does not like.

It's mostly thinking honestly about our beliefs, and noticing the horror of the bible and the horrific effects of religion.

Physical forces; nothing supernatural or conscious.

"out of chance" pretty much tells us you don't understand how the universe works, and that you want to keep it like that.

A real god would do a better job at guiding life. Look at the world - there are thousands of religions, no way to tell which is right, and your god is waiting to torture everybody who guesses wrong.

I didn't become an atheist I became an agnostic because the fact is no one knows what actually exist, everyone with a religion believes theirs is right. By asking ,"If the Bible said that homosexuality was good, sex with animals was good, adults having sex with children was good, drugs and drunkenness was good and orgies and adultery was good, would atheists then believe in God?' are are acting as if atheists have no moral or anything, you are very ignorant, just because a religion seems could seem very favorable doesn't mean that would get people to start believing it, if they don't feel it is true in t heir hearts they just won't believe. Of course science opens are minds and God, but their are many other religions and beliefs that open our minds. Stop asking so many questions. I don't want eternal life either, besides even if there is a god why did he/he create us for our entertainment? We won't ever know until we die so until then let people believe what they feel is true. just because you are an atheist or agnostic doesn't mean you have no morals.
BTW all types of people, including Christians do all the tings you mentioned first.

Atheist don't have a problem with the rules of Christianity, they just don't believe in God. Many atheists live very moral lives and behave better than some Christians. Contrary to what you seem to be saying, it is possible to be a good person without the threat of going to Hell if you are bad. By the way, if the bible said that all of the things you mentioned were good, would you then have sex with pack of under aged female animals? Atheists would use their best judgment before they would let other people tell them what is right. Unless you are reading the bible in its original language, then you are accepting what other people have translated and told you to be the true word of God.

IMHO....it may be part of a master plan of evangelization....the really religious should be celibate, then they will die and go to heaven. The homosexual will suffer the same fate...they will die, young, usually....and go to their eternal reward...who knows where.... Only the non-religious, heterosexuals will be left...and they are the prime target of evangelism any how..They are the ones with family values, work hard, attend church...and,.if they believe, and raise their children properly, we have a high probability of having a very full heaven. Wow, what a masterful plan. Get rid of any who are already saved, or who are opting out of salvation...and give the rest a chance to become believing people on their way to heaven. The fields are truly ripe for the harvest.

the problem is that some people, like you, take the bible to literally. The bible has metaphors, and allegories that are meant to teach lessons, not be literal. You can believe in god and also have some common sense and a belief in science. Everything evolves, NOTHING is constant, not even us. I believe in a higher power, but I also believe in reason. This is an ignorant damn question to ask. Why do you assume that somehow atheists secretly want to do these things? Hasn't there been enough damn over-generalization on both sides of the aisle? How about all the conservative and liberal atheists and theists meet over in the government section and battle it out in the political arena with absolutely NO mention of religious nonsense whatsoever?

why exactly do you think that because someone doesn't believe in your god that they're morally inferior? just because they dont pray to your VERSION of god doesn't mean they want to have sex with CHILDREN. get a grip on reality. morals aren't exclusive to christianity. some other people (atheists or religions) actually have stronger morals because they dont have the concept of forgiveness.
