He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:25-27

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

I wish I could say I serve the Lord. I am a believer but I'm also a person and I am sinful and selfish. In my day to day activities I have to work and make money to provide for myself and my family. Although I'm happy to share my belief in Christ I find myself deviating from my own convictions from time to time_(Romans 7:15)
An opportunity to make more money?...greed slips in.
An opportunity to feel anestisized after work...self relaxation grabs my attention and I have a drink or 3...
A beautiful Girl with a voluptuous figure walks by?...My desire for lust gets aroused...
I guess in the end, I serve myself but as Romans 7 ends and Romans 8 begins, I believe as long as I keep a lid on my flesh-filled sinful desires I'm doing o.k. as a survivor in this world

Im with you brother!!!

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
