What Does the Bible say about Witnessing?
Webster’s definition of witnessing is to bear witness to one's religious convictions
The bible says, “He who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)
Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
Jesus came to seek and to save what was lost. (Luke 19:10)
As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. (John 20:21)
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (1 John 2:3-6) Jesus gave his life for our sins. His mission was to seek the lost. We are not suppose to be ashamed of Jesus. We are suppose to following in his ways. If God’s love were in us we would live according to the way Jesus walked in the bible. If we know how to be forgiven of our sins and go to heaven, then why would we not share this with anyone? If you do not share this good news with people then you are not sharing God’s love. This is a very selfish thing to do.
The word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: 'When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.' "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself. (Ezekiel 33:1-9) Once we are born again we are called to be watchmen. Are you going to just sit on the wall and not join the battle of good and evil? Or are you going to stand up and blow the trumpet? When we hear the good news and keep it to ourselves, then we are not being a good servant to others. If you let people in your life die in their sins and not share the gospel of Jesus Christ, then their blood will be on your hands. Do you think we are living in the end times? If you do, are you telling others or are you just sitting on the wall. Friend be bold and stand up for Jesus! If you haven’t noticed we are now in a spiritual fight and we need to be a witness for Jesus. Everyone is suppose to be a witness for Jesus. When was the last time you told someone what Jesus did for them and how he changed your life? If it was not today then what are you waiting for? Go tell someone. If you are asking who, then just be quiet and listen to what God tells you. God will put someone on your heart.
