that is not the point.
most probably God had compassion for those people and they are in heaven.
The tortures that Jesus had to endure, were that of all of our sins. he was without sin.
that is why we Christians worship Jesus because he is God. He obey his father.
Do you think that being God he had to endure the horrors he went through?
He did it for you and me. He could have stopped it any time, the people you are taking about could not stop their torturers.
Christians did not existed at the time. He did it for you. And it does not matter how much you doubt Him He loves You, exactly the way you are.
If you look at the mirror and you see the most beautiful person you also will see your sins, He does too. If you look at the mirror and you see and ugly person, because you do not like the way you look He loves you anyway and you are also a sinner.
I am a sinner I love Jesus and I ask Him for strength daily, because with out Him I am nothing.
I know He save me and open the doors of heaven for me. I know he did so by his passion, death and Resurrection.
We worship a real savior, he was not made up of stone, He is not something we imagine. He is real.
All you have to do is pray for those people that have being tortured and ask God to give you the grace you need to believe.

Nothing is more brutal than what Jesus went through in the last 24 hours of His life. Add to what people could SEE, God Almighty poured His FULL FURY for all the sins of mankind upon Jesus' already physically tortured body, heart, mind, and soul.
As a parent, who felt and suffered personal pain, guilt, and shame for any short-comings my own children had while growing up, I can tell you I could not even fathom the WEIGHT, PAIN, GUILT, & SHAME of sin of ALL of mankind, much less to WILLINGLY accept and suffer His Father, Almighty God's direct the full unconstrained vented fury slamming onto Jesus' innocent, blameless shoulders...No one but Jesus could have survived that....NO ONE human or all human suffering combined through the ages equals that.

Crucifixion is considered to be the most agonizing; it combines a state of shame, peril, helplessness, and prolonged suffering.
Jesus was recorded as suffering more lashes, beatings and extensive torment from the crowd more than was typical.
But the greatest torment he endured was not from men, but when God "forsook" him and turned away. Until that moment he had experienced continuous fellowship with God, the Father.
In all that Jesus endured, which is staggering to behold, he is reported to never have cried out during the ordeal. The one agony he could not endure was being forsaken by God, the Father. That was sheer terror to him and he cried out loudly, despite barely being able to breathe and being extremely dehydrated.
The picture given to us is a man who endured not only the torment of the physical suffering, but a spiritual poverty of being forsaken by God on our behalf.
Ultimately, however, the reason we worship Christ is that he is the Son of God, who was perfectly righteous and holy. The spotless lamb of sacrifice who takes away the sin of the world.
We worship him because he alone is worthy of worship.

We don't worship Jesus because He died for us. If you just think for a moment about Memorial Day, lots of people died for us. We worship Jesus because He is God. His death by itself isn't what gives us eternal life. He defeated death - it could not hold Him.
Imagine someone who gets arrested, convicted and sent to prison with a life sentence - then it turns out that person was INNOCENT. He must be released. Jesus was innocent of all sin. So the grave had no authority on Him - it could not hold Him!
When we are baptized, we identify with His death AND His Resurrection. That eternal life that He gives us makes Him worthy of all praise and worship.

Isaiah 53. v 1 - 5 incl.
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised and we esteemed Him not
Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him and afflicted.
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our inquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed."
Prophecy in the Old Testament about the coming crucifixion of Jesus.
You obviously do not understand the Cross.

He was innocent, perfect, free from sin as part Man & God, torchered and beaten beyond almost recognition, face and head swollen, humiliated and stripped naked, made fun of ,Thorns shoved into His bruised bleeding scalp, kicked, flogged with 50 lashes of a short leather whip that contained several pieces of sharp bone and metal so when entering the flesh would rip hunks out of it.
He is dehydrated and half dead, yet He was still kept alive to carry the heavy splintered cross through the streets to the top of a rugged hill on His bleeding throbbing back and shoulders, while crowds of by standers on both sides gathered in yelling and throwing stones at Him, laughing and calling Him names in His agony.
When He got there He was thrown down on top a hard splintering cross digging into His raw back and with arms stretched out as far as they could reach, while feeling the pressure of the large metal stakes as they are pounded through His flesh, muscle , tendons and bone. He said nothing. He could have stopped it all but continued and allowed His feet to be impailed the same way as pain shoots throughout His whole body.
Now as they are lifting Him up on the cross, He feels the weight of His body being pulled against the ,metal stakes by gravity.
He is struggling now to breathe for He is suffocating at a slow rate. He pushes up on His already painfully impaled feet to catch a breath. Meanwhile He sees out of His swollen eyes the soldiers making bets for His bloody robe, and His mother and closest friends below at His feet crying.
He is hot, hurting and as lungs are slowly filling with body fluid leaving it difficult to breathe and every breath is painful causing the lungs to burn, your mouth is dry, He says He is thirsty but instead of water they offer Him sour vinegary wine on a sponge.
He has done nothing wrong to be going through all this and Has the power to call 10,000 angels down to destroy all those who took part in this and remove Himself off that cross.
Instead He allowed Himself to stay and finish the task at hand. A perfect sacrifice had to be paid so He bore all the burdens of all the sins of the world for those who believe and would follow God.To purchase a place in heaven for them after life here on earth they would live forever with Him in Paradise.
We worship Him cause He is God and they are not.

Hmm. You seem to forget the torture that Christ endured *before* He was crucified. Besides-who else can claim to have done what Christ did? I'm fairly certain no-one among the ranks of "respectable" humanity would've been so altruistic and loving as Christ was and still is.

The Crucifixion was bad enough, but He was crucified without cause. He was innocent. He was also not the only one to rise from the dead, but He was and is the one that rose from the dead never to taste death again.

Because they were not sinless, not divine, did not raise from their death and ascend to heaven.
We don't worship Jesus because He was brutally murdered, we worship Him because He is God incarnate on this earth and will come again to establish His Kingdom. Amen
