I personally believe that God has a body and Jesus Christ is His Son. When I tell some people this, they ask me why I think I can put limit God, put Him in a box and try to understand Him, when He is a mystery not to be understood. Well, what if I'm not putting God in the box, but He put Himself there, so to speak. If I'm feeling confrotational I just reply well you are limiting Him yourself by saying He can't have a body. It really comes down to interpretation of scripture and personal faith. One day all of us will know, and we'll just have to wait.

You have recognised the problem in saying that Jesus is the son of God.
God is not a body or made of flesh and bones.
He is the Creator; the One that does not resemble the creations (whose attributes are evidence that they are in need of a creator).
Having a shape, taking up space, and all other such specifications are evidence of a specifier of that creation with a certain shape rather than another shape, etc.
God is not created so He is not subject to specifications.
The proof that He Exists is the existence of the creations.

The idea is that God knowing that man on his own could never pay off the sin debt that he creates in his life limits a part of Himself to be human ( although this part has always been existence.)That part must also be similar to His creation (man) so that man could relate to Him. ( this would require flesh and bones ( But also remember Genesis 18 when three men show up and talk to Abram yet when one speaks it says "The Lord spoke" Unlike God the father and the Holy Spirit ( shekina?) this part of God is given flesh and bones so that man can relate to Him Plus as mentioned in Exodus would not be able to look onto the face of God. If this part of God is in human form then man can. I hope this is only the beginning of an interesting discussion

Don't you know the scripture says we now know Christ no longer according to the flesh, and that he was made alive in the spirit, and that flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom?
The same goes for the Father. John 4:24 states simply that "God is a spirit . . ." (KJV)
1 Peter 3:18Because Christ also (1) suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;(1) Many ancient authorities read died ) (ASV)

O, you who call themselves Christians? That means what?
Do you think that giving God human attributes such as a body of flesh and bones in your mind makes you a better Christian than others? The only flesh and bones that God has are those that He got when He came here as Jesus Christ. Christ was God come to earth in the flesh. The Holy Ghost is a Spirit, God the Father is a Spirit. Read your Bible.
King David said in the 139 Psalm, verses 7& 8, "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there : if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."
A God of flesh and bones could not do such. But God the Father can, and does.
We will never become as He is. He is God. We will never be gods. That is mormon doctrine, and is false.

Some say God made Jesus, because he himself could not assume a physical manifestation himself, and so he made Jesus. Or some thing that Jesus is just the physcial manifestation of God. And he "descended" into Earth/physcial body to feel the suffering of His people. Why can we not hope to be as great as God? Maybe after a point, God makes us his equal. And one could say humans can't make anything that could be equal to a human (reproduction aside, because the general theory is there is no other Goddess for God to reproduce with), and based on that say nothing can create an equal.

How can you reduce God down to a human being when he is so much more than that? God made the whole universe and everything in it. If you reduce him down to a human then you won't get as good of feeling about him like wow he is so much bigger than us for he controls the universe. Jesus was not God, He was a prophet and a teacher of Gods law that died for our sins. he even says he is not God. (Mark 10:18
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone.) So Jesus is saying he is not God

"Why would a father create his own son as something so different as himself?"
Why not? Maybe God couldn't recreate himself. Maybe he didn't WANT more than one God. The same way that some parents try to mold their kids into little versions of themselves, maybe God didn't want to do that.
In terms of thinking of God as flesh and bones, maybe people don't want to think of God as a human, because it's kind of awkward to worship and pray to another human being. Also, it would turn into what color his flesh is, and whether "he's" a male or female, etc.

How can a man be a man and a husband and a father as well as a son?
You limit God to less than a man when you insist that God cannot be something that man has no problem being.
God is more powerful than you can imagine, and God can do anything God would like to do. God chooses to do what God tells us God will do. God chooses not to do what God tells us God will not do.

"Why would a father create his own son as something so different as himself?"
Jesus is not a created being. He is the eternal Son of God who wrapped Himself up in flesh, adding humanity to his divinity in order to fulfill the law and pay our sin debt.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one origin. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, "I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise." 13 And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Behold, I and the children God has given me." 14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
