I need physical proof. I can't trust a book that was written a couple of thousand years ago by men that did not know much about the universe or anything for that matter.
There is too much evidence that contradicts the bible's claims of how the universe, men, everything was created.
I believe in science; science can prove with real evidence things such evolution, dinosaurs, etc.
I just can't take it on faith that there is some all loving god that created everything and yet there is no real evidence of it or him. And don't give me "read the bible, the bible says". The bible is no proof of anything.

If you accept the propositions of the ID movement, you're left witht the impression that the intelligent designer is a piss-poor engineer. Foveae, the digestive and respiratory canals crossing each other, the knee, the abdominal wall, and that's a short list from one species only.
If you read the qualities presented to us by the Old Testament, the lengthiest 'biography' of God, you find a being so far from the concept of being worthy of worship as to be laughable. I can see worshiping this deity out of fear, but not out of love.
This being is a vicious idiot, an incompetent thug, the George W. Bush of the supernatural.
Or, more likely, it's just that there's no one minding the store at all, and through a combination of human tendencies to ascribe agency to non-intelligent phenomena and a rose-colored wishful thinking/revenge in the next life sort of setup, a deity of confirmation bias was created by humans. I'm not positive about this. But the alternative is unlikely and vile.

Nothing is 100% certain. I lack belief in god because there is no evidence for one. Unlike religious folks, I do change my mind: with EVIDENCE.
But there is some evidence that all religions are false (literal interpretation), if you compare their spiritual texts to what science now understands about the physical world. All human beings, for instance, did not crawl out of a hole as said by Navajo myths. Also they did not emerge in a Garden of Eden with talking snakes. That much is obvious.
Seriously, what makes you sure that there is a god and you know his (assuming it is a humanoid male) name, habits, and beliefs? Sounds like a wash.

Zero evidence of any god.
The fact that designers always leave traces even if they don't mean to. Traces such as vestigal organs, imperfections, disabilities, strange chemical makeups etc. These are all indicators of a design by a human since humans are quite imperfect. The problem is the Christian god is perfect and therefore wouldn't leave these traces. Of course since there are these traces that means the Christian god can't be true.

I actually didn't become an atheist because the lack of physical evidence for a god. I became an atheist after understanding exactly what this god is doing. I see it as very, very (x infinity) wicked. I'm not 100% sure that there isn't a god. But if there were the Christian god, there's no doubt he'll be some evil maniac.

Things that we can't do or still trying out/inventing but having little or no success with or at it. Then believer says that will god can do the job just by praying which only looks like he refuses to shows any sign of helping his children unless those things were intended to happen.

Because humans have invented and worshiped THOUSANDS of gods throughout history, and there is no evidence that any of them exist. Atheists simply believe in ONE LESS god than Christians do. Not a big deal.

But if you really must know (even though I'm sure you'll give the "best" answer to some Jesus freak):
I am "sure" that God doesn't exist in the same sense that I am "sure" pixies, King Kong, and a teapot orbiting the planet Jupiter do not exist. Meaning, I can't be "100% sure", but sure enough to realize that these things sound way to easily made-up, are a waste of time to dwell on, and just bring in more ridiculous notions when brought into the picture.

I don't have any reason to believe God exists. I do not get persuaded from the cheap psychological tactics of going to hell if i don't believe in Him, or going to heaven if I do. I don't need to believe in the supernatural with everything we're finding out in our universe. The earth is not the center of the universe, and it was not made for humans. God was made by humans to explain what we don't know and for comfort.

It's too impossible.
Science shows us animals adapt (evolve).
Humans have made dogs from wolves, (given enough time nature also does things like this).
A being with magical powers (no less) just can't exist in outer-space, and come from nothing.
Evolution makes way more sense, even if we don't fully understand it yet.
