Yea, tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for the lord my god is always with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.)

I especially like these few verses, which helped me find peace within myself in times of despair and destitute:

Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. † Psalm 55: 22

For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations. † Psalms 100:5

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks it will be opened. † Matt 7:7-8

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. † Matt 11:28

It also helped my friend who was kind of down, feel abit better too!

Psalm 139

"Even before a word is on my tongue, O LORD, you know it completely.
You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it.
Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me fast."

Eph 2:19-20 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.

Joshua 24:15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, the choose for yourself this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Armories, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

I can't remember the verse, but a few years ago, I was contemplating things like capital punishment, revenge, and violence in general. I picked up a bible sitting on my mom's computer desk, opened it to a random page, closed my eyes and put my finger on it. The line above my finger read "If they come for peace, take them alive. If they come for war, take them alive."

Jesus answered and said to him, verily, verily I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God".
John 3:3

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5,6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not upon your own understanding. Acknowlege him in all your ways and he will direct your path(life).

These verses have guided me throughout my journey in life from the time I accepted Christ in my adolescence until reached adulthood.
