There are so many homeless shelters that require people to adhere to the Christian belief system before they will help them. Many of them will require the resident to attend bible study for a year or longer for 8 or more hours a day before they will allow them to look for work.

I can understand why they may have good intentions, they feel that person needs god in their life before they can be helped, but most of the people I know who have been through this end up feeling like they are being force fed or brainswashed and end up resenting the religion...

Do you think it is un-christ like...

I'm not quite sure what they believe exactly. I know they don't believe in a high power, but do they believe in souls or anything? Is there a book or something that states their beliefs that I can read, or would that make them a religion...?

You are who you are and I am who I am, often we tell people they don't have the right to tell us who or how we should be or act. Well, God uses natural things to teach us about himself and dah, why can't he tell you who he is and what he wants through scripture? Is it because your heart is too rebellious?

All species start with a healthy stock of earlier species interbreeding within a given group, as well as with closely related outside groups. Traits that make survival easier are passed on, while weaker traits are mostly lost through death of the weaker members. There has never been a case (that I'm aware of) of an entire (higher lifeform) species descending from only two parent members.

A different question that I have posted someone that replied mentioned that god is male and female (see my question about dogma for reference)
So I ask how do you know god is male and not female? Is it possible that it is the other way around?

every historical society has had a way of explaining how things have come to be. I presume that they based it on there observations of what was happening around them.

That the Latins(Roman Catholics/Papists) are heretics there is no need of our producing any proof for the present....Enough was said concerning them by St. Mark of Ephesus in Florence (at the twenty-fifth general assembly), who spoke frankly as follows: “We have split ourselves off from the Latins for no other reason than the fact that they are not only schismatics but also heretics.” Wherefore we must not even think of uniting with them.

There is a story about a little boy who shot his Grandmothers duck with a slingshot and killed the duck. He did not think anyone saw him so he hid the duck behind the wood pile. His sister saw it from the window and that night after supper she said Bobby wants to help with the dishes. Then she leaned over to Bobby and said "I saw the whole thing with the duck." This went on for a week and finally Bobby told Grandma about what had happened. Grandma told him she knew all along but was waiting to see how long he would let his sister torture him like that.
You see it is like that God and Satan. Satan knows our sins and he, like the sister, never lets us forget them, as long as we are willing to allow him to "torture" us with the memories of our past he owns us.
God also knows our sins and like Grandma, HE will forgiven them and is willing to wait for you to come clean. As long as you are letting the devil remind you of what you have done, God is willing to wait for you.
Any secret sins?

Do you think this life is all there is, or do you believe in an afterlife?
Do you accept the concept of karma, in the sense of cause and effect?
What is your moral code in relation to right and wrong?
Do you believe you have a destiny, and do you see yourself as here to fullfill it?
What has life taught you so far?
Do you believe our survival on planet earth is being threatened?
Who do you admire most in this world, Historical or living?
How do you find peace within yourself?

Answer them all or answer one! Or if you would rather, tell me what YOU think the ten eternal questions are.

that hangs its entire credibility to write history in advance, without error.
prophecy after prophecy has been fullfilled exactly as the bible said. example Jesus predicted that Jerusalem would be destroyed and not one stone would be left unturned in 70 ad it was.
history confirms that the bible is correct. yet people deny it. the bible has the best evidence that it is authentic to the letter. compared to any other ancient writtings in the world.
the bible predicted Israel would be reborn and never be scattered again in the last days. and after 2000 years of exile in 1948 it was.
In Mathew 24 Jesus talks about the things that would happen when the end was near and they are all happening now.
Have you read your bible lately??? Jesus is the way the truth and the life.

Okay, I'm religious, have always been, but after a miscarriage and hearing about other children dying during or after birth, I've been questioning God's will. Why would he allow someone to go through that pain??
I'm now thinking that God never intended procreation since he made adam and eve very naive. They never "saw" each other naked until the devil intervened. So is it the devil who helps with conception and god that helps with death??
If anyone knows, please help me see that God does want us to procreate, is it in the bible somewhere?? and don't tell me he takes babies for a reason, I don't buy that anymore. There are hundreds of children out there born to women who used drugs and come out completely healthy, while others are born to healthy women and come out disabled.

Yes, Atheists and Agnostics are evil according to God and Chrisitans. Atheists and Agnostics should be happy that we Christians give them a full time job to deny God 24/7. Most of you do not have jobs or a life with out us. What would you be doing if you are were not crying about everything Christians were telling you? What would the Atheists and the Agnostics be doing if there were no Christians? Atheists and Agnostics would probably write a book on how their intellect is god like. The fact is most of you have made your thoughts god. Atheists, need Christians. Atheists need Christians to mock and spit on. Thats ok I am Christian I forgive you, but God does not. Revelation 21:8 Atheists will always be nothins without Christians. Atheists and Agnostics really need to get a life. God looks down upon you. I say all this out of love. Something you really do not know about. Christians will always be better people then Atheists and Agnostics. We know we are better. God Bless You. Peace

If you believe God had a hand in writing your holy text, whatever it may be, and disagree with the literal interpretation of that scripture, you are going against God's will. This is what can be considered religious moderation. If your actions are guided by the literal interpretation of the holy text, you are a fundamentalist or extremist (not very popular in modern times). If we accept the holy books are truly to be the work of God, the fundamentalists are the only ones that can truly proclaim they know God's will. If you are a moderate and don't follow the literal interpretation of your holy scripture, you are making a personal choice to interpret the texts to what suits you as right. Hence, you are in turn saying "I know what God wants and His/Her intentions, despite what my holy text says." I can't imagine a statement any more arrogant. Am I wrong? It's really a catch 22. If you're a fundamentalist, you are considered a nutjob. If you're a moderate, your simply arrogant.
