Sorry to do this, but let me answer your question with a question.
Why do Christian get mad and even belligerent when atheist explain that the belief in a none-existent entity such as god is foolish and in itself detrimental to society and thus evil.
The bible is chock full of lies and fabricated events. The god of the bible in the old testament is about as loving as Hitler was, worse even, if you were to believe the stories. Yet for some reason, Christians believe that god is a loving father figure? Yea, okay.
If you follow the stories of the Bible back and make a timeline, the earth would be just over 4,000 years old and humanity would be about 7 days younger. Yet we KNOW the earth is more then 4.5 billion years old and that humanity (Homo sapiens) have been here for 200,000 years. There is the first big mistake and what a whopper it is. There are plenty of others if you want to take the time, open your eyes and do the research. But doing that and questioning the bible is a sin, so you just keep your eyes closed, your head down and hope your right. Oh well. Good luck with that. (then again, I don’t believe in luck either.)
Since I believe the root of most evil is ignorance, and believing in a mythical god against all evidence is s good sign of ignorance, I would say that the bible, and the belief is god itself is one of the biggest contributors to evil in the world. Just look back at all the atrocities brought about by religious zealots over the centuries.
But, since I know ignorance loves to believe itself smart, no matter how wrong it is, I ma sure you already dismissed what I had to say based on some unbelievable reason, such as, "The bible says it's true so it must be." I hope you open your eyes some day, however, I will not be holding my breath.
Take care!

No atheists or agnostics I know get hostile about being called sinners. We just laugh at how idiotic you all sound when you're on your soapbox trying to convert us or trying to put us down to make yourselves feel better. However, I've never actually had a true Christian talk to me the way you are writing in your question. Most Christians I know are more at peace with themselves and their beliefs than you are. They don't need to push it all on me. You "say this out of Love"?? LOL. You say, "God looks down upon you." Man, what is your problem?? I think you must be pretty insecure in your faith.
"Cari F" is right. You're not fooling me either. You can't possibly be a real Christian. You sound about 16 years old.

I feel sorry for you, wrapped up so completely in your own self-righteousness. Atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and even other Christians do not need people like you to tell them right from wrong. Every religion or belief system is just as valid as any other to the people who follow it. Intelligent people will choose their path based on their knowledge and understanding of what is right and good in this world. Stupid people will go into a rant about how right they are and some of these will go so far as to get into holy wars. That's where you're headed, my friend. All you're doing is making your view of the supremacy of Christianity, along with yourself, look foolish.

Give me a T! Give me a R! Give me a O! Give me an L! Give me another L! What's that spell? TROLL!
LOL...come on, I deserve a couple of thumbs up for that one! :)
Where do I start? *evin grin*
I don't believe in God. This doesn't make me a liar, it doesn't make me hostile, and this doesn't mean I have no life.
My non-beliefs actually make up a small portion of my life. In my spare time, I scrapbook, drive my Miata, scuba dive, kayak, and spend time with my boyfriend and my dog.
While I'm fairly smart, I wouldn't exactly call my intellect "god-like". Not sure I'd even want "god-like" intellect. What would that even mean? Would I have to rain fire and brimstone? :)
I don't mock and spit (especially spit- that's just nasty!) unless mocked first. Then I can get really ugly, and use big words like "primordial" and "articulate".
Why do you feel the need to insult us so? I'm a paramedic, I save lives for a living. What do you do, besides come here and insult us?
Go **** yourself. I think I feel better now :)

I am sorry that you feel this way, but I can assure you that well educated individuals from a plethora of philosophical and religious views do not behave in the manner you explicated and demonstrated in your post. May I suggest for your personal edification you read your entire bible, or at least all of the New Testament? Specifically, you should pay attention to passages like Romans 2 (or any other "you are not to judge" passage of which there are literally hundreds) which preclude your claims based on your only source of truth and knowledge, the bible (see link below).

If you have to look up any word in this post or still do not understand how you made a complete and utter mockery of your religion and an a s s of yourself, then please make an effort to attend numerous philosophy courses at a reputable institute of higher learning.
Ignorance speaks volumes; wisdom knows its limits. - A quote on epistemology by me (so far as I know)
Agnostic, postmodern, and libertarian are the religious, philosophical, and political terms which most succinctly and accurately reflect my views. I suggest you research them.

I only get hostile when Christians post things like this to feel all high and mighty, when they're not.
I am not evil. I certainly hold a lot more moral principles, like NOT JUDGING OTHERS (yeah, it's in there, look it up. I know your damn'ed Bible.)
than you do.

Oh, and I'm not Atheist or Agnostic. I'm a Classisistic Nehilist.

Okay, I am a Christian and you are not fooling me. This is not how a true Christian talks. You are either presenting yourself as a Christian when you are not, or you are mocking Christianity with this question. Or, you could be of the Phelps persuasion of the Westboro "Baptist" Church. Those folks practice the same form of hatred disguised as Christianity that you are exemplifying with your question.
If you truly are a Christian, then let me admonish you Brother, to word your question following the example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus loves us all - atheists and agnostics included. He died for ALL of us. God does not look down on anyone. He loves us all - so much that He allowed His Son, pure and innocent, to pay the penalty for the sins of all mankind. It is just as great a sin in God's eyes to practice self-righteous arrogance to those one hopes to reach for God, as it is to reject God altogether.
God bless you as well.

And where in the Bible does it tell you that Christians should be calling people "liars". I should also let you know that Revelation 21:8 says nothing about mocking or spitting on Atheists.
You may call yourself a Christian, but it is no more believable than you calling yourself Napoleon Bonaparte.

sheez...I'm not atheist or agnostic but I can see why they get hostile towards Christians esp if you are the Christian representation.
How hypocritical of you to quote Christian scripture while at the same time going against everything that Christianity teaches.
Whatever

That's one of the more disgusting things that I've seen online. I don't know why, but I still have a hard time believing that people can be this bitter and hateful. Luxury Class 4, I would highly suggest some anger management therapy.
