is there evidence of scientific theories in the Bible. i once read in scripture where it referred to the "circle of the earth"....i can't find it again, though! i thought that was interesting, because it was written long before people knew the earth was round...is there anything else like this?

I mean in the witty sense, or sometimes a joke to lighten the load

can you give an example?

iv always suffered from anxiety because im so tired of always wanting something else, im tired of waiting for something that dosent exist, and trying to understand other people when im too stipid to get it through my head when i belive found a piece of the answer. i just want to know what i should do i dont want to get on my knees to god because that sure as hell didnt work. And even if it does i dont want to live in some of the lies of christianity i just want to belive in something and know the truth because i know deep inside that theres more to life than meets the eye and i want to know what that is and belive in it and stop quesenting endlessly.

do your arguments get heated, infuriating or impossible to solve?
Do you fling degredation at the person with whom you are arguing with - especially where a spiritual argument is concerned?

Do you?

A man kills a brother of another man,but unintentionaly.
He repents deeply, and even makes apology to the brother of the dead man, explaining himself.
But the man whose brother was killed, doesn't accept the apology and seeks revenge for his dead brother.
He kills the brother of the man who killed his brother. He also repents and asks forgiveness, just like in the first situation.

My question is :
Are they both forgiven ? Do they both find mercy ?
I believe that the second man,who intentionaly took revenge should get no mercy.

My understanding is that there will be more women saved than men and that in Heaven men will have more than one wife. Why would a man want more than one wife? Is it pride for their seed?
Why are women more righteous?

...they can so easily accept that God is an eternal being without a creator? One of the main points behind the Christian faith is they cannot fathom the universe existing without a creator, everything has to have a creator--but if they believe that is so, then why do they so readily accept God as someone who simply is and always has been? Is it that hard to imagine the universe (or at least the point that exploded and became the universe) in that same fashion?

I'm just wondering, because it seems like every time I push a Christian hard for answers, they seem to do the following:

1) Try to employ their own understanding of theology, which eventually leads them to...
2) use sacrosanct information they've been indoctrinated with, and then they invariably...
3) Quote the bible directly, or...
4) Tell ME to go read the bible, and finally...
5) Pray for me.

When I get pressed hard about my atheism, I employ logic, rationality, the scientific method, and scientific laws. If I get to a point where I don't know the answer I simply say, "I don't know", or I'll do more research. And if they actually prove me wrong, I'll gladly admit it, because it usually means an entire branch of science is about to be rewritten, and scientists around the world would be grateful for their correction.

So how about Christians... do you always rely on God, Jesus and your Bible to provide all the tough answers?

And by the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is certainly the truth, just as it is true that you speak.

Hasten towards forgiveness from your Lord, and the Paradise whose value is the heavens and the earth.

Tell My servants, O Prophet, that I am surely, All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.(Quran)

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say 'I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.' (Quran)

This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul-Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' in Mecca.]
After praising and thanking Allah the Prophet (saws) said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligations shall henceforth be waived. Your capital is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.
