Kinsey and Freud were both kinkey. Kinsey actually pressured little girls into acts they did not feel comfortable with. And Freud worked with neurotic women with hang-ups.
Most psychologists are now aware of their peculiarities and use a more wholistic view of abnormal behavior.
One thing though, every psychology book I've seen deals with theories, and rejects spiritual or supernatural influences. Nothing could be further from the truth than everything in the world is explainable through tangibles while denying the existence of a holy war.
Satan, who deceived 1/3 of the holy angels has greater success with unsuspecting humans. More on the great conflict in a Bible code at http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Ahhhh Freud, well meaning but a tad mislead. I thank him for revolutionizing the realization that dreams are powerful, and for trying to decode their cryptology. I do not, however believe that *Everything* is tied back intrinsically to sexuality. I believe our psyches are deeper than just the need to reproduce mini me's. There is something deeper and more fundamental about existence that reproduction, I thin Carl Jung got it right. Freud looked really damned hard and almost found it, but I think he was frozen by his own particular brands of delusion.

No. While I do respect freud for giving us something to work off of in creating the anylitical framework in therapies used today. His theories on personality development were just that, theories. He never really did any respectable scientific research, at least nothing that I'd consider respectable, and his psychosexual development stages were probably the best worst wrong assumption the man ever came up with.

Have to agree with Marysia. Freud had some serious sexual conflicts himself. Likely where he came up with 99.9999% of his theories. Have you ever noticed that the majority of psychoanalysts often give some fairly sound advice but can't seem to manage their own live's as well as they'd like to see their patients managing their lives? Same goes for about 99.9999% of the rest of us. Ain't nobody perfect. Ain't nobody got all the answers either.

Freud made some interesting connections, but he lacked the entire picture, and didn't seem to have the ability to see beyond his own theories.

If one is on the material platform practically it is true. There are a few that this doesn't apply to. Those who are truly transcendentalists and worshipers of God trying to follow His instructions this will apply less depending on how surrendered they are. This world is based on Lust and the spiritual world is based on Love. Lust meaning wanting for ones sense gratification and extensions of myself (my family, my county my nation, even my religion. and love means to please the Supreme Lord.(Also known as Krishna,Allah Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. For most intelligent persons read Bhagavad Gita As it is Translated By Bhaktivedanta PRabhupada wit purports on line on asitis.com I love it.

I do think that virtually everything a human
does can ultimately be tied back to the
instinct to survive and multiply.
Freud, however, was famous for making
connections that ... well ... sometimes
a cigar is just a cigar.

No.
Freud also firmly believed in Oedipal and Electra complexes... I can't believe that anyone still believes in that stuff he spouted.
