This question disqualifies the scripture passages which do not support the idea. Respond as though it was just announced on the news....

Actually, what do you think about homosexuality, bisexuality, and transgendered people? I was just wondering what you personally think. By the way, I am a heterosexual (straight) ally/advocate for LGBT rights.

would you put him in a mental facility? because if you think about it, every day there are people who claim to be jesus, and they get sent to the nuthouse. so if you send everyone who claims to be jesus to a mental facility, than how will you know if it's really him?

How could he justify its existance?

I know the biblical God does not exist because no truely "good" god would EVER allow a place where billions of people suffer for eternity to exist. EVER. period. no exeptions, no "its their fault", there is no excuse is there?

I was just reading some ones answer and it said:

"The human body is evolving....we're losing wisdom teeth....we're losing the pinky toe of the foot...the appendix is a vestigal organ now...."

So My Dentist pulled my second molars and I have my wisdom teeth in my head right this second. My pinky toe is still in tact. OH and I just had a baby and he has both of his too and so does everyone else I know....so When is all of this supposed to happen? Im thinking if a large number of people were being born with out pinky toes it would be in the news or something.

Will the end of the world happen in 2012???

Thanks for many thoughtful answers (and the other ones!)

Am. Heritage Dictionary: God = "A being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions."

My point is this, that this is meaningless, to me, anyway (and I suspect most who would call themselves atheists). I just can't conceive of what such a being might me like, it's just weird to me.

But as far as the answers, that, if I don't believe in god, that makes me an atheist:

Say I'm amoral--I know what it means to be moral. Or asexual, I know what it means to be sexual. But atheist--here's where I go, Huh??? I just have no idea, literally, what the heck a theist believes in.

Does this make my original question clearer?

In His book He writes: "...for she hath rebelled against God..and their infants shall be dashed in pieces and their women with child shall be ripped up."
Hosea 13:16 KJV

It seems he wants unborn babies killed when someone makes Him mad...not to save the life of a good mother.

We hear a lot about how the theory of evolution is regarded among Christians, but what do Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. have to say about it?

where did god come from?

why does he REALLY care about anything?

and on that subject, why would he care what we do, or what we warship.

why 'make' people evil?

why not just *poof* satan away if he is all powerful?
(now THAT is a REALLY good question!)

if he is all powerful why not just make everyone how he wants?
(dont talk to me about making people *special* on earth. i mean lucifer, why not just make him so he won't betray you)

i mean the christian 'God' sounds rather weak compared to other gods immagined.

i even feel stronger.

whats god done to anyone in the past millenium?
nothing.

no miracles, and NO proof.

that is the reason some people say, "god is dead!"
like in the crucible.

wheres jesus?

why didn't god save him?

if god sent down jesus to save us from our sins, why didn't he just *poof* that to happen?

why do we insist the bible was written by him? and that the bible is actually real...?

hmm... is it, because we're stupid?

A theist believes in god (or gods)

An atheist does not believe in god (so must have some idea what theists mean by god)

An agnostic doesn't know if god exists, so again, must have some idea what 'god' means

What do you call someone like me who, honestly, has no conception what 'god' means, beyond a meaningless syllable?

Seriously!

I see many Christians now like to blame atheist Americans for the crimes of men like Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao Zedong. They claim that atheism leads to communism and ultimatly atrocities. This may have been true a long time ago, but in modern times, atheism seems to equate with peace. Take Sweden for example. 90% of Swedish people are either atheist or agnostic. Church attendance in Sweden is about 20%. Swedish people score higher in both science and math than Americans do. They have a much smaller crime rate than Americans, except theft. Personally, I would prefer theifs over murderers. In Britian, 40% of people are atheist or agnostic. They also score higher in math and science and have a lower crime rate than America. I don't think the numbers support your claims Christians.......

If we are eternal servants of God, acording to all bonafide scriptures, then why do you ask God for materil things and to make all arrangements for your sense gratification. God I need this and that and can you do this and thayt? Why ask for bread and food when He is even giving the necessities to animals? We should be grateful, but why ask for Him to serve you? Do you ask Him dear God (Lord Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc) How may I serve You today? Do you know how to serve Him? Do yo know what He desires??? If you don't, Bhakti Yoga (devotional service to the Lord) is a nonsectarian process on how to serve God with love and devotion. Try it you'll like it. No need to change your religion. It's all there in Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada.
