There are so many facts when it comes to Evolution that I can't deny them. But I also want to be Christian. So is the whole "Adam&Eve" the basis in which we have to believe or can we just believe in God and know that some of the stories, are not so much fact.

I've got this vague memory of a talk about the atonement and mercy of Christ being extended to everyone "even you" and the speaker kept repeating "even you" over and over again throughout the talk.

I've done a search on LDS.org with no luck. Anybody remember that talk? Or have any better hints on how to find it.

Thanks

By studying the geology of the region, scientists know that Russia and Alaska were connected via a land bridge approximately 13,000 years ago.

It was during this period that Asians crossed over into the North American continent, and migrated south into Central and Southern America. We also know through medical science that the Central and South American natives are genetic descendants of the people who now inhabit East Asia.

If the earth is only 6000 years old, and the North and South American continents are isolated from the ancient holy lands in the Middle East, how did the inhabitants of the Americas get here?

Please tell me, because per my atheist brain, it does not compute how many of you relate and define it.

Example: If men and women are equal in the cult of Islam, then why don't men wear burkas and niqab (aside from jihad and murderous, terrorist rampages)? Or, why aren't women afforded the chance the drive in Islamic paradises like Saudi Arabia?

Just two examples. I could go on for days, weeks...months.

I am in the process of converting to Catholicism and am really enjoying learning so much about the faith and myself. I can't wait for RCIA to really get going. For now, I'm learning basics, and what various things mean. I finally learned why people drop to a knee before sitting at mass--genuflection. But I after I was told about this, I realized, I don't understand what is meant by "on the right knee." Does this mean that your right knee is bent, or your right knee is the one touching the floor? I don't want to do it and be disrespectful because I do it wrong. Thank you!

Can you remember to please be kind to one another in our attempts to help each other? I have a few personal things that I need to attend to and probably will not be around here much until the fall (not health issues). I appreciate all I've learned here from my contacts and those that are not my contacts.

Please, also, reject no one. There are people here that have had their lives shattered. Rejection only validates why they feel they way they do. Signing off as I normally do...and until we meet again, to everyone:

Peace.
Love.
Blessings

1) How do we have a wedding? How much fun are dry receptions?

2) How can we work out our religions for our children? Do i really have to give up Chrsitmas and Easter? ( would hate to have our children sit out at Chrsitmas while the whole family opens gifts, or not be involved on Easter.

3) Do I have to convert? ( i really dont want to convert to something i dont beleive in)

The Church of England wants to make religious beliefs relevant to youth by using episodes and examples from the American television show "The Simpsons".

They believe it will teach good lessons in resisting temptation and it even likens Barts impatience to meet his idol Krusty the Klown with christians waiting for the second coming of Christ.

They have a church backed book that is given to youth workers and suggests watching and discussing the episodes.

Your thoughts?

She has to "do it" when the dude says so. She gets beat. She has to do all the housework. She is responsible for this chastity delusion more than the man...so are women just objects for men to attain and keep? Like a pet, but bipedal and capable of communication?

How am I less than you, Muslim males, simply because my dad shot a girl out that day?

If you don't like my tone, tough. I'm trying hard to play nice. Especially with garbage like these Islamic notions that women are inferior. And please, you aren't Spock, so don't try and Vulcan mind warp me. Islam is, as Islam does. And right about now, your chicks have a piss poor lease on life: Hijabs in hot assed weather, "Husband, CAN I go to the store?" (wtf???), the Islamic bicycle, the Islamic "swimsuit", public stonings, beatings, 4:34, menustration is a disease (hadith), women and dogs null prayers (hadith), Bad omens are the house, the horse and the woman (hadith).

WTF???

Let the Taqqyiah begin...

And if Jesus forgave us of these sins how is it that we keep commiting them.

It like I pardon you from the death penalty and you go out and continue to commit crimes believing that the pardon I gave you continues to pardon all your other crimes.

This question is raised because I keep hearing people say,"Jesus never said anything about this or that". That is religion, not Jesus.

Many of your answers on my last question dealt with how you couldn't believe in Christ because you thought it was illogical. So I pose this question to you: If it was proved to you that God's existence is logical would you believe.

including some of those on here..say that they "stear clear" of us believers? Those of us who are concerned about Israel and the Jewish ppl are as sincere as we can be and it is a hurtful thing to have those ppl slam us.
Please don't be mean in your answering.

Do you belive it is what you "should" do?
And if so, why?

I was just wondering, since Jesus said that the sole reason God created women in the first place was to provide company and service to men (1 Corinthians 11:9), God determined that men would be lonely living alone, so he created women purely to keep men company and serve their needs (Genesis 2:18-22). I suppose this means that women are therefore completely subordinate to men (1 Corinthians 11:3). It stands to reason, though, that once men enter the Heaven, they will be one with God, and will no longer be lonely and in need of mortal companionship. So does this mean that women don’t have souls? Also, where do they go when they die?
