Very wise words there. We humans are habitually oriented. We do not like change.

“. . . there are periods of history when the visions of madmen and dope fiends are a better guide to reality than the common-sense interpretation of data available to the so-called normal mind. This is one such period, if you haven't noticed already.”
“Intelligence is the capacity to receive, decode and transmit information efficiently. Stupidity is blockage of this process at any point. Bigotry, ideologies etc. block the ability to receive; robotic reality-tunnels block the ability to decode or integrate new signals; censorship blocks transmission.”
“It only takes 20 years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea.”
Robert Anton Wilson

Very insightful..
I have found myself doing this on occassion it's like a slap i the face when I realize I am doing it.. Luckily most often I have been able to catch myself early and ask the person with the idea to restate it so I can actually listen...

yes absolutely. I find that in my daily walk with God, as the Spirit reveals himself to me, I am often astounded to learn that I must further humble myself and / or reformulate an idea that has been presented. More often than not i am surprised by the thoughts and ideas that present themselves.
blessings :)

I think , "That's the case with people and the Bible, if they would honestly listen to the entirety of the Book, they would most likely realize that it's too specific too have been thought up by man alone."

Yeah, I agree. A lot of what we believe in has less to do with logic and more to do with emotion. Some ideas are threatening to cherished beliefs and are discounted without being considered.

very true
we are all scared of change
it is a natural instinct
but once we get over the fear
we can see change is good
so we have to listen to the whole idea before arguing against it
